(I've got a snail joke, do you want to hear it?)

Now you've got me curious!  It's a little off-topic, but I'd love to hear your snail joke.  :D

I'm also in for hearing the snail joke!

Schipperke, I have been behind on updates but am so glad I picked up when I did! The adventures of Ben Oliver always make me smile, Thank You!  ;) As for the lipstick stain on Ben's face, can't say that I'm surprised...He's just evilistible! (Evil + Irresistible) Something tells me that Lady Absinthe has some plans of her own for our lucky ? hero....

Goodisitble! I say that should be the next trait that EA introduces, just for Ben!
Snail joke for those interested, in a spoiler because it's a little off topic.

Blayzen, I'm glad Ben and I can make you smile.  And thank you for mentioning the lipstick stain.  When nobody else mentioned it, I wondered if anyone had noticed it.

Then he's obviously goodistible. ;)

"Goodistible?" - I like that word!  Like it a lot, and Seabody - it's going to become extremely relevant in the story very soon.  Really, sometimes I think people are reading my mind.  But lips sealed on that point for now.  :P

Thanks for sharing the joke, Swirl-Girl!  It make me chuckle.  And it's bilingual, too!  It suggests a logo for our evil organization - too bad I have no idea how to use it.

The Dromedary Club Adventure, Part I

Diary Entry

University had been fun, but a lot of work.  The train ride home had been - well, unsettling.  I had never been very bothered by danger and the recently-discovered daredevil in me actually relished danger, so that wasn't what was bothering me.  It was more that the more I learned about the nature of my fellow Sims, the more I discovered that I didn't like.  Trying to get innocent Sims hooked on an addictive substance, just for the sake of profit?  I remembered what my father had told me about his homeland, about how people there lived in harmony and cared about one another.  For the first time, it occurred to me that I could leave all this and just go live in my father's homeland.

That was my state of mind when I ran into De Luca downtown.

I had been hoping for a break, and De Luca had good news for me.  "Oliver, I'm glad to be able to tell you that you won't be going off on another mission right away.  You've been working hard and you're overdue for a break.  There's nothing on the horizon at this point, so other than your work as an astronaut, you'll have a chance to relax and have some fun."

I thanked her, then she added, "Oh, and your work in the beauty contest brought you to the attention of some very influential people in town.  We've been receiving very positive feedback about how you handled the situation.  So much so that you're going to be receiving an invitation to join the Dromedary Club.  It's a very old, very exclusive club, and it's a great honour to be asked to join."  She added with a trace of pride, "My husband Dario is a member.  I know you're not a social climber, but with the kind of work you do, it doesn't hurt to have contacts among the rich and powerful.  It could also be a source of information from time to time."

Interesting.  I told her I'd watch the mail for the invitation.

"No, no, it won't be coming by post," she said.  "They need to interview you in person.  They also like to see where a person lives, to make sure you're not living in some way that could bring disrepute to the club.  They'll be calling some time today, so go home and wait.  And make sure everything's neat and tidy."

I thought of Bonehilda and her obsessive neatness, making the bed with me still in it.  I didn't think there would be much tidying to do, but I'd find something to occupy myself while waiting for the Club representatives to arrive.

There was a job at home I had been wanting to tackle.  With all the travelling I did, I wasn't always home to cook for the recruits and May, and they were all pretty poor cooks.  I had seen the leftover autumn salad and burned waffles in the fridge when I came home, and I wanted to do what I could to improve their meals.  So while I waited to meet the Dromedary Club representatives, I set to work upgrading the stove.

The doorbell rang.  They were here!  I quickly changed my clothes and went to greet them.

Matching coats! Well, almost matching. Are we sure that Ben can handle it? (I'm sure that he can)

He's not Evil, he's Good.

Rosa, I meant that Evil finds Ben irresistible. I didn't mean to imply that our handsome spy was evil. It's just that he always finds himself in the most difficult of situations, surrounded by Evil. Sorry for the confusion!  ;)

I don't feel very good about the dromedary club.
(Also, I made an ESCARGOT logo, based on the joke, do you want it?)

The name "Dromedary Club" reminds me of two things, some sort of Art Deco fancy club with flapper dresses and spats.  Or the old(?) cigarette advertisements with the camel smoking (google 'Camel Cigarettes').   and based on these two images I can't wait to see what Ben gets up to!
