I know the problem Audren! He's not wearing his kilt! He should wear it at all times now. :D
So, that is why princess isn't a schipperke (had to copy and paste again!), it must be something, illegal!

I love your photos of the train. My first thought was "How did she do that?" but then I figured it out.

What - you mean you don't believe I built the train?  ;)

In case anyone didn't know, the train is a fog emitter effect.  I was just delighted when I discovered it!

Yes, that's why Princess had to be a bloodhound instead of a schipperke.

So you think Ben should wear his kilt for good luck?  I like that idea, but he might have a bit of trouble wearing it to bed ...  :P

...or around a dog!  Dog's tend to sniff the groin area... a lot!  Ben's got too much at stake to wear a kilt around a dog.  ;D

And I hope whoever gets it will share their cookies and insight with me, because I have no idea who Mistress Jane may be.

I have to say, learning that my characters in this episode all seem to resemble non-Sim people that I've never heard of is making me feel quite bemused.  Mistress Jane ... Jamie and Adam ... have I entered a parallel universe without knowing it?  Or is it a case of "you never know who you may meet on the Magic Town Express?"

It's all a bit weird and spooky for me.  None of this was planned, you understand.  :o

Haha! I don't know who Mistress Jane is either, but that is a funny observation. You know what they don't say, When on the Magic Town Express! (play on When in Rome.)

Mistress Jane is the antagonist in a book series called The 13th Reality. She is known for wearing yellow and having dark hair. She's a very evil woman.

Well, well.  Mistress Jane sounds very interesting indeed.  Now you've got me curious - I'm going to have to see if the library has any of those books.

Thanks for the explanation!

Wow my email freaks out and I don't get emails to say there's more updates and I come online for work and just...WOW! I have missed so much. Last I saw Ben had found the dot... And reading what I missed I too thought the "princess" was going to be a toddler! And I have to agree that the "colleagues" look like sinister Jamie and Adam! Schip you never cease to amaze and your April Fool's prank was just more of your literary muscle!!

The Magic Town Express, Part II

Diary Entry

The blow to my head left me unconscious for several hours.

I came to just before dawn.  Princess was asleep in her dog house.  And there was no sign of the brown trunk.

My head was throbbing but I remembered what I had seen in the trunk just before I lost consciousness - tightly-packed vials filled with some sort of liquid.  Now the trunk and the vials of liquid were gone - all but one that had been clutched in my hand when I was knocked unconscious.

I tucked the vial in my pocket and went to the lavatory to tidy up and wash the blood-red stain off my face.  Then I went back to the passenger compartment to find it empty.

There was no sign of my fellow passengers.  I found the conductor and asked what had happened to them.

"They got off several hours ago," he told me.  "It was very sudden.  Someone pulled the emergency brake just outside Hidden Springs.  I was having a nap at the time.  By the time I woke up and went to investigate, the woman and the two men were gone."

And the brown trunk?

"Oh yes, it was theirs.  They took it and all their other luggage.  It was odd, though.  Their tickets were for Aurora Skies, the last stop.  I wonder what could have caused them to change their minds and leave the train early?"

I had a feeling I knew why they had left early.  Whatever was in those vials in the trunk, they didn't want anyone else knowing about them.  I fingered the vial in my pocket and resolved to give it to Dr May Bea to analyze.

The rest of the journey was uneventful.   After stopping in Riverview for breakfast I persuaded the conductor to sit in the passenger compartment with me.  We passed the time chatting.  He had many interesting tales to tell of his days with the Magic Town Express and all the passengers who had travelled on her.

Late that afternoon the Magic Town Express rolled into Monte Vista and the end of the line for Princess and me.  I bade farewell to my new friend.

Princess Patricia may not have been my dream girl, but she was a brave and noble beast, and I was convinced she had discovered something important in that trunk full of vials.  I was sorry to have to say goodbye to her, but the Egyptian Ambassador was waiting for her.
