Which Traits Are Must-Haves

One I usually get is Savvy Sculptor. But I tend to sculpt a lot and I hate how often when doing a stone sculpture they disintegrate without this trait. Such a waste of time for the gem you sometimes get when it happens.

This is where I get most of my Sim's Woohooium.

I personally like to have Lucky and Workaholic on my Sims, as it makes sure they can get promotions pretty quick without their fun going too low. I can usually leave my Sims with this tarit on "Work Hard" for the duration of their work.

Lucky, well just helps with everything. Game wins, good Moodlets and less chance of dying are all good points in my book.

Charisma so I can spam things like "Enthuse About Business" or whatever I might discover that gives a healthy relationship boost in conversation without boring the other sim and able to move on with other sim tasks without spending entire days socializing.

I have never used much "Over Emotional" but I may try since everyone seems to like it.

I used Carl's guide for my Superstar Actress's traits and have been using Ambitious a lot ever since. She got promoted every day the first week with a ton of related wishes and was swimming in points.

Bookworm: ...but only because I love books myself. You can get a lot of book wishes and read a lot faster than non-bookworm sims.

I've become a big fan of couch potato when I'm playing with free will on because whenever I don't need that sim, he'll just watch TV all day and be low maintenance. Double mood gain from sitting in a comfy chair is no joke either. Unless I'm playing a sim who plans on doing some active like the professional sports career or making money through martial arts, I'll pretty much take couch potato almost every single time.

I also take neat a lot since I'm pretty stubborn about having a clean house in my game and having the clean entire house option to put the sim on autopilot makes doing that easier. Who knows, that sim might catch something I missed and clean it up.

Try Dramatic and Over Emotional together. They faint very well.

I didn't realize Charismatic help with that. I've always got the Never Dull LTR.

I read somewhere (either the guide or the forum) that sims with the charismatic trait will never be considered boring by other sims when using the "get to know" action. So you can basically make them get to know the other sim a 100 times in a row and other sims won't get bored. I always prefer the Observer LTR (or whatever it's called in english), than the Never Dull one. It helps a lot in Dynasties when you're looking for a wife or husband with nice traits and don't want to spend hours socializing to learn every sim's traits. That, combined with the charismatic trait, is one of my favorite choices.

Baby Genuises

Hi All:

Another trick I use is making all my babies Geniuses.  It makes them learn to walk, talk and potty a whole lot faster!

Smart people, couldn't hurt right?   You can always cheat and change the traits later...like a lobotomy.

You should check out the thread I started on fast friends. It's a work in progress, but I've got most things up there now. I guess it depends whether you want the trait slot, or to spend the LTH points.

Personally I don't like the Family Oriented trait. It makes tending children too easy and is one of those "free giveaway" traits. It's a tad more fun with challenges.

If I'm planning on a family I always use nurturing and family oriented. I'm just not a baby/toddler person. I have both of those set to 2 days before they age up.  I'd rather have Sims who will take care of them without my thinking that the kids might be better off being raised by wolves.

For me, I always do the "Trigger Age Transition" cheat after a baby is born. The newborn nooboos are horrible with their larva blankets. Plus, the sims in my game spend 24/7 with a toddler. Toddlers are more adorable IMO

I always have one neat sim and a handy sim.  I make a sim have the family oriented trait while I have toddlers and then I change it back to the old trait.

I don't like it because of the wishes it generates.  They're constantly wanting to have kids.  It's a lot of LTH points to right click away when your Sim wants to have their 72 child.   

You'd think at some point the Sim would say "You know, I have my own baseball team already...do I really need to start my own league?"

Then there's the pinching of the cheeks Family Oriented Sims do when they become elders. I think Insane is much more useful than family oriented. At least Insane Sims have their own unique personality. I mean look at the great actors, Gary Busey and Charlie Sheen.
