Only few traits I chose regularly - loner (in all casual games), neurotic or insane depending on Sim, perfectionist or neat, brave and adventurer, ambitious and OE. Savvy Sculptor only in dynasty for sculptors. I recently started to love Evil trait, as they got that positive moodlet even when they are suffering, and eco friendly got a couple of very nice additions (such are Replenishing the Earth from gardening, or Saving the water or something after shower)

..I prefer the Dislikes Children trait. I once made a sim with the traits "Dislikes Children, Kleptomaniac, Unlucky, Neurotic, and Never Nude". I then forced her to have Out of Wedlock children with a townie. She had a total of 13 kids. :P

I always have a great cook in my families. Insane is fun, I like to sit back and watch them lol! I also like OE but not for my male sims, don't like it when my manly sim cry all the time. Family oriented and nutering is great if you plan on a big family.

It reaoly depends on what i want to do with my sim, but i think all around, my favorite would be bookworm because it indirectly makes you learn skills faster. A lot of skilling for some skills (cooking, gardening, charisma, etc) comes from the library books and if i can read them faster i can get the skill faster.

But the funniest trait to me is insane... i love watching sims swimming in formal wear. all the other interactions it brings are so funny!

Most of the time I use Family Oriented and Friendly because I like to have big families. Now I use Neurotic, Charismatic and Over Emotional. Haven't used Evil or Insane yet. Once I had a sim with Mean Spirited, Loner and Hates the Outdoors. I really loved that Sim  :)

Evil is fun sometimes.  Evil sculptors making ice sculptures have a very amusing animation.

Evil and Insane are a great combo of traits. Which is exactly why Hetty Lionheart is my favorite pre-made townie of Sims 3. Period.
