The Sims 3 Goodie Boxes
« on: December 20, 2012, 01:06:11 PM »
There has just been a post on Facebook from The Sims 3 about these Goodie Boxes so I thought that I would share the link.

You can buy them for Sim Points between 300 - 1500 and the amount of items you get can vary FAQ's are located here.  There are two different types of boxes available Home decor and Create a Sim.

They are available for a limited time (it doesn't actually state how long).

The problem is that they state if you already own something, you could get the set. I filter what I buy from them. Some stuff just makes my game lag (too much junk).

But, thanks for the info!

Huh. I was bored and decided eh, why not. I got a few CAS pieces that were just okay and then lucked out with a bonus item - the Once Upon a Time Cottage. Can't see how much the set costs anymore, but the two sets it includes cost 1000 and 1350 simpoints, so getting them both for 300 simpoints was a pretty sweet deal.

Probably not going to buy another one, but I'm not regretting the purchase :P

I actually got some good stuff, including the warbling wind chimes premium content. Can't say I'd stick to buying my CC this way, but it alleviated both my boredom and curiosity.

I bought a couple of goodie boxes for fun, and got some bits and pieces that were quite pretty (a faire folk bench which my immortal dynasty is now using), and from 7 goodie boxes (I got quite a bit of money for christmas :D) I got 6 different sets - mostly decor, seeing as I bought the decor boxes, but also got an elder clothing package, which was very useful for stopping the old dears from looking awful when they get too old for EA to let them use the pretty clothing ( :( ).

I got the crystal ball and the gothique library as bonuses to the 3-box CAS purchase!  Sweet.

I got a whole lot of stuff I would never use.  Since I'm not computer savvy I'll ask,  is there some way we can create a list of stuff we got which we don't want so we can gift it to others?  Like a swap shop?  If this is possible, can someone create instructions (that a four year old can understand)?

The Goodies Boxes are coming back!  With some new improvements as per this thread by SimGuruTaterTot 2.0.

Hello!

SimGuruTatertot v2.0 here -- giving you a look at what limited-time promotion we're going to be bringing back for a short time at The Sims 3 Store: Goodie Boxes!

We all know that those who didn't own the majority of the Store (you know who you are) loved the Goodie Boxes. Well, we're bringing back the Goodie Boxes for a limited-time run and it's back with some major fixes:

If you own a compilation, you will not receive any of the subsets. (Yes!)

If you receive an item through a Goodie Box purchase that is also on your Wish List, we'll remove that item from your Wish List, so your friends cannot gift it to you. (Yes!!)

You can now easily see all the items that you received through Goodie Box purchases by utilizing the sort filter under your Purchase History.

I myself might have gone a little overboard the last time the Goodie Box promotions were running...so you all can understand how I too am fairly excited that this promotion is happening this Thursday.

We’re sorry, this option is not available because of the amount of Store content you already own. Thank you for being such a great customer!

I got the same message when I tried on the danish version of the store. I switched to US language and was then able to buy.

After your comment I managed to get a Deco box. I got a few little items and the Fairy Outdoors set.

I decided to go for the 900 sim point, four box home decor bundle. I got the Enchanted Bundle of Dark Dealings (yes!) and the Full Storybook Set (45 items, containing all 4 individual storybook sets). Certainly a good deal! The downside being that the Full Storybook Set doesn't look like something I would use much, since it's fairly Victorian looking--unless maybe I did a steampunk sort of thing? Well, the Dark Dealings stuff alone was worth it to me, and several of the individual items look like things I would use, too. Does the Sims 3 store let you gift away goodie box items by any chance?
