Aging up birthday cake problems
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:16:32 AM »
Hi all and a very merry and happy festive season!
So my problem is that with aging off i can't age up my toddlers (I've always been able to cake them up before)..
So I turned aging back on and when I clicked on the cake only the mother was available to age up... I waited 5 sim days before deciding that it just wasn't going to work and now I've abandoned that game  :'(
I haven't played recently so I'm not sure if the problem was isolated to that game (oh I hope it is as I'm playing a sort of legacy game which I really don't want to glitch up)

Anyway (sorry for the babbling lol) any help would be great thanks!!

I think you need to have aging on in order for the cake to work.  Also, take control of the toddler and have the toddler click on the cake.

If all else fails, there is a cheat to trigger the age transition.  With testingcheatsenabled true, you take control of the toddler and shift-click on the toddler, and then the option to trigger age transition should be available.

Good luck.   :)

Was the toddler in a crib, highchair or perhaps playing with the block table or some toys. You this can stop them from aging up with cake.
Is your toddler a werewolf as they cannot age up when in wolf form.

There are also certain items from Supernatural that causes people to be unable to age up like the mood lamp has a moodlet and I remember something about flight of felicity will cause the issue as well.

Nope my toddler was just playing with their imaginary friend like always... And always before when they've done that I've been able to cake them! It's just since I installed Seasons that I've had this problem... I have all other EP and SP installed...

I always have to stop my toddlers from playing with their imaginary dolls when trying to cake them up.

I'll try that when I go in game again but usually if they just autonomously decided to play with the imaginary friend then whichever action I choose to do with them cancels the play time... Only usually have to cancel it if I told them to play. But at this point I am willing to try anything! Especially since I don't want my fake legacy game to have this glitch!

Thanks Sarabi, Rachel and Rica!

If the IF is the problem, try and put it in one of the parents inventory until after the birthday.
