If you're talking about in buy mode, there isn't a spot for eco-friendly specific stuff. However, there are certain items that will give eco-friendly sims a good moodlet. The dish washing machine is one of them, as well as bikes instead of cars for transportation. Otherwise, you will have to experiment with the items. Know this though, the more expensive items will probably be eco-friendly compared to the cheaper versions of the same item i.e. the washer and dryer.

There are eco friendly items available if you download them from the Sims 3 Store.  They are free with the Prius and with the other eco friendly car.

Hi Canimal, yep you can buy windmills and solar panels in the buy mode.  They are supposed to decrease your bills by a fraction but I usually don't bother because I always get sims no bills ever LTR.

Mostly, for my eco-friendly sims, I use the recycling bins, wastebasket for the house and big bin for next to the garbage can; no dryer but use the clothesline; use bike or Kenspa instead of a car; if you use a car, make sure there's more than one sim in it otherwise you get negative moodlet for not carpooling ::), and quick showers and not baths cause sim is saving water. :D  Big positive moodlet for gardening and replenishing mother earth. :D

I have a question. How do you use the charging station?

Snowy, did that come with the Twizzy car? If so, where do you find it to buy it in game? I have the Twizzy and I can find it, the various planters, the solar panel and the windmill but I can't for the life of me find that other thing in the picture that I'm guessing is a charging station (what ever that is lol) I was trying to find it to see if I could work out what to do with it.

Not to mention that you get a "replenishing the earth"- moodlet  when doing gardening :)  Doesnt last long tho, but still a nice thing for a tiny boost everyday

OK, I just did a google search and found a thread at the official site about the charging station. Apparently, it's for a community lot, which explains why I couldn't find it in game and it has no function as such, but is just for decoration.

Too bad, too.  I found out it just sits and does nothing.  I placed one in my neighborhood and changed lot type to community to see if it worked and what happened is a bunch of people showed up and stood around and read, lol.  That is when I knew that silly thing didn't work.  A lot of people thought it worked when it first came out.
