Wow! How dramatic! They actually broke up? That's terrible! I'm glad you managed to repair the relationship. As for Mercy and Qusul...when he first showed up, I would never have suspected this happening.

Ditto for the second homeymoon / second wedding / third honeymoon holiday.  As for Mercy, well I just quietly hoped...

Wow! The things this game throws at you!
I think you did really well watching over this lovely little family.
And may I say, that I am totally enchanted with the last picture!  :D

Oh man, that must have been incredibly stressful!  Also, go get 'em Qusul!  Knew you had it in you.

Wow, dramatic holiday, this game just totally glitches out sometimes doesn't it, I had a sim witness betrayal recently just because a strange dog sat on his mothers lap in the park  ???

So glad you got them past it though.

I'm happy Beppe and Aurelia could fix their relationship! Sometimes sims seem to overreact when it comes to love...
Mercy and Qusul? That would be a nice pairing. I hope they can use the time they have. ^^

What a Momma's Boy. I had a sim got the moodlet, and right after she and her husband called it quits, she got the Foverever Faithful moodlet. Oh, the irony..... ::)

Chapter Sixteen – Around the House

Dear Diana,

We’re all very envious of your balloon and definitely want one. After some discussion, we decided to make the balloon available to everyone in the community instead of just us. I’ve bought Venice Beach, and as soon as I have enough money, I’ll add the balloon to it. In the meantime, Beppe and I will have to continue making up in the usual place.

Beppe had his birthday soon after we returned from China.

He’s not having a mid-life crisis – at least he says he’s not. But I don’t know – obsessing over wrinkles might be preferable.

I thought you might be interested in our museum. Mom doesn’t want her section shown because it’s a mess (her word, not mine). Her first elder portrait disappeared when we tried to hang it. Uncle Camillo painted a second, so that was not a problem, but the wall still thinks there’s something there, and won’t let us hang anything else. So her elder portrait and photo are over by the spiral staircase, and she doesn’t want to move things around in case another portrait disappears. Anyway, this is my section:

And here are portraits of our helpers – Dad, Uncle Cam, and Qusul. We couldn’t get Dad’s portrait while he was alive, so Qusul took a picture of him as a ghost and painted from that. Dad faces Mom’s section, and Uncle Cam and Qusul face my childhood area. Beppe’s portrait is up, too.

Virgil is quite an active little fellow. I think he’s going to look like Beppe, or rather, the way Beppe would look if he were chasing bandits.

Virgil definitely wants to fight bad guys when he grows up. He was trying to look under the bed the other night (difficult because the side of the bed goes all the way to the floor). “Are you afraid there might be a monster?” I asked. “Afraid?” he scoffed. “No, I was hoping there might be one so I could fight him.” If we were at war, he might go into the military, but since we’re at peace, thank goodness, he’ll probably go into law enforcement.

Mom and Qusul are working out their relationship. He told her all about his assignment to discover the secret of immortality, and how he resigned when he was ordered to steal the food replicator with its ambrosia and return to his home planet. She was very touched by his devotion to her, but sad that he couldn’t become an immortal, too. She told him that his descendants might be able to become immortals, if he married some other woman who could have a baby girl, and if Virgil then married that girl. Qusul agreed to try that, but I don’t think Mom anticipated the method he would use.

She’s decided not to encourage him to get someone else pregnant. Maybe the Watcher will give him a dynasty of his own some day, she says.

Good luck with your next promotion! Love, Aurelia

Wow! Giving Qusul a dynasty of his own or Virgil? Sorry, didn't quite get that.
Last picture seems a little ominous. Thank Llama, little girls cannot be abducted! :)

Qusul, you know there are more fun and significantly less creepy ways of getting a girl pregnant! Little Qusul boos would be adorable though. I can't believe how much drama there was between Beppe and Aurelia! Sometimes sims get upset over the strangest things. I'm glad you were able to get them to work it out though.

Hahaha Qusul naturally connects impregnation with abduction. Makes sense. I love seeing the personality manifest in younger Sims!

A Qusul dynasty should be an hilarious read.  I'm looking forward to you doing that one.  ;D

Chapter Three – University

Dear Diana,

Congratulations on completing your requirements! And on getting married! And on becoming a mother – twice! Wow, have you been busy.

Things have been quiet here, except that the other day a llama came to the house with a bucket of stuff from the university. We’ve always planned to send Virgil as soon as he’s old enough, but a couple of things happened. First, Beppe said to me, “You ought to take that aptitude test, just to see how you’d do. I bet you’d get a scholarship or something.” Then Mom reminded me that the seasons would be different at university so I’d be able to do some fishing. And finally I got a call from my boss, who said he wanted me to find out what was new in the world of science.

In short, I took the test.

I was able to get 18 credits in Science and Medicine, and I also got a scholarship. So I packed my suitcase, and signed up. Mom told me not to worry about Virgil – that it would hardly seem to him that I was gone.

As soon as I arrived on campus, I realized that I needed some new clothes. I picked up something comfortable, with sturdy shoes that I could wear when I went fishing. I added a pair of glasses so I could read the tiny print in my textbook.

I decided to rent a house rather than live in a dorm. I found something quite reasonably priced close to campus.

This is what it looks like inside – basic (except for the bed – I invested in the most comfortable bed I could find).

And this is the view from the front porch – pretty nice, huh?

You probably want to hear about my classes. Twice a week I’ve gone to The Ancient History of Medicine 202 and Preaching About Economy 201. I’ve been to a Science lecture…

…and studied a skeleton.

For extra credit, I did a gene splicing experiment. I put an eggplant seed in the splicer and took out a strange kind of seed. I haven’t figured out yet what I’ll do with it.

I have exams tomorrow, but one of my professors invited me to a party she was having. It was a good opportunity to get in with the Nerd social group. I just hope it helps with my grade.

I don’t know yet whether I’ll return to Uni. I’ve really enjoyed it here, but of course my family comes first. I miss Beppe and Virgil a lot, and Mom, Uncle Cam, and Qusul, too. The main thing is whether it helps with my job.

Anyway, give Woden and Valor kisses from me. Funny how we both had boys. Love, Aurelia

Nice update and beautifully written.  It's nice that Aurelia took the opportunity to go to university.  I'm sure she'll do very well.

That's the same house I rented out.  It's wonderfully efficient, isn't it?  That fridge sucks, though.

Am I sensing a Plant Sim Cottoneye someday in the future, hm?
