Chapter Ten – Finding the Forum

Fourth Report from Tier 4 Agent Qusul

Delta Sector Commander, I salute you!

Gratitude for oral communication. Shouting not necessary, but understandable.

Questioning continues. City inhabitants told my presence is caused by scenic appreciation (camera finally procured).

Many items of interest to report. First – I have completed black op! Black op is telephone call with request to perform service.

Second – New appliance procured for kitchen. Purpose related to immortality, but still not clear.

Third – Younger wide-nosed woman soon to produce child. Questioned if child would be immortal. Her answer – “Yes, if he completes all requirements.”

Fourth – I have found Forum!!!!

Questioning produced different answers (Etruscan Ruins, City Hall, up on the hill somewhere), so resorted to probe.

Probee reluctant at first, but responded to positive inducement.

Immortality Forum can be found on computer. Information to follow in next report.

Note:  City inhabitants very naďve. Think horrible, terrifying, scary monster is my “pet.” “Pet” is fluffy, cuddly creature kept in house. Not necessary to report, but laughter-inducing.

Prosper and live long, Tier 4 Agent Qusul Ayohod

Hi Qusul!

(He is sure to find this soon, so I may as well make friendly contact.)

So hilarious. I love Qusul!

Chapter Eleven – What’s Short and Sweet and Blue All Over?

Dear Diana,

I think I’ll probably become a mother before you become an aunt, especially if you’re not an aunt yet when you’re reading this.

When Beppe found out he was going to become a father right away, he said (and I quote), “No! No! Not yet! Hospital! Hot water! Help! Don’t scream! I can’t think when you scream! Call the police! Call the fire department! No! Call a doctor!”

I finally told him to take it easy and go lie down. I did not tell him to dream about food.

What’s that I’m holding, you ask? That’s your second cousin Virgil. He’s brave and athletic, and he’s going to be a fireman when he grows up. That’s if Mom is willing to let him grow up.

Shortly after Virgil was born, I got another black op. I almost turned it down because it involved going to Egypt, but Mom said no, to take it, and she would come with me. She’s due to become an elder pretty soon, and she wanted to do some traveling beforehand. Plus the trip would give both of us time to work on our skills.

The scenery was incredible – I can understand why photographers are crazy about the place.

It only took me a few minutes to learn about Senet Strategy. After that, I spent all my time fishing. Mom was hoping to throw plenty of elixirs at the townspeople, but apparently the shopkeepers weren’t eligible subjects. We did accomplish a few things, however – Mom bought a really nice camera for Qusul, and I maxed fishing and picked up a few crocodiles in case anyone in Monte Vista wants one.

Uncle Cam and Beppe said that Virgil was good as gold while we were gone. He really is a sweet little fellow. Love, Aurelia

Chapter Eight – Ice and Music

Dear Aurelia,

I am so sorry about your mother. Aunt Artemis sounds like she was a real live wire – I wish I could have met her. Mom is pretty broken up about her dying, but she says to tell you that you can always consult her about mother-type thing

I'm not sure if this is a typo or not... but isn't Aurelia sending the letter and not receiving it?
By the way, I love your dynasty :-) I can't wait for more!

Good thinking on grabbing those crocodiles.  They do often come in handy.  Can't wait to see toddler Virgil's features!

Whoops! Thanks for catching that, CaramelCat. Aurelia was obviously distraught when she wrote.

Chapter Twelve – New Clothes and Ambrosia

Dear Diana,

I'm so proud of Beppe. He's has been taking very good care of little Virgil.

He got a new outfit for himself, which I like much better than the cardigan he was wearing. “Twenty-three skidoo!” I cheered when I saw him.

He fainted the other night when he went into Virgil’s room and saw my dad sitting there. I thought it was so cute, but Dad was a little annoyed. Even though he’s a ghost, he’s perfectly harmless.

Mom became an elder the other night and immediately started complaining about her back.

She got a whole new wardrobe, and has decided to wear overalls everyday as that would be more practical.

Her formal wear is very elegant.

Here’s nightwear…

…and outerwear.

She’s not quite ready to become an immortal yet, but Uncle Camillo mixed up a batch of ambrosia for her (I caught the deathfish). She didn’t want a party, saying she was happy to share a cake with Virgil.

We have no idea where the blond hair came from, but we think he’s adorable. Here he is in his everyday outfit.

This is his formal outfit (his favorite color is spiceberry).

And here is his outerwear.

More pictures of my darling boy will follow. I can’t wait to see how Shelley turns out. Love, Aurelia

Fifth Report from Tier 4 Agent Qusul

Delta Sector Commander, I salute you!

Your opinion that rules found on Forum not all necessary may be correct. Ambrosia may be only thing required. This involves recipe:

Ingredients of life fruit and deathfish:

And cooking:

I miss our homeland very much. I painted a picture of the sky from memory, but the city inhabitants thought I was imitating artist named Vango. They tell me he was famous and crazy.

I hope to hear soon that my mission has been completed.

Twenty-three skidoo? I do not understand. Beppe looks really good though! And little Virgil is a cutie pie.

Hehe, I like that that's his real sky, not just another van Gogh impression. Oh, Qusul!

So close to first ambrosia!

Rosa, "twenty-three skidoo" was a slang expression in the 1920's, similar to "totally awesome."
