Aurelia turned out stunning, and Qusul's quite a handsome alien. I still need to play an alien. D:

Aurelia's wardrobe is lovely. I like her formal outfit, but have to agree... maybe not for Prom.
Ah... it's difficult for parents, is it not, to hide their fears and let the little ones spread their wings?
I'm excited about Qusul joining the household! And I think he looks very cool!  :D

I think Aurelia's looks great in her formal outfit too - and agree not for prom.

I'm really enjoying your characterisation.

So funny, how they try to disguise the fact that he's an alien! Makes me think of scenes in movies. His clothes do look like they were just kind of pulled together, but it's also a cool, co-ordinated look.

Chapter Six – Spring’s Arrival

Dear Artemis,

We really enjoyed having Diana for a visit. I wish she could have stayed longer, but I know she had to get back to school and working on her requirements. Aurelia misses her the most, I think. It would be easier if she could start fishing – she had a dream about going fishing the other night, but our pond is still frozen over.

Aurelia went to her prom the other night, wearing a dress that was much more suitable for her age.

She danced with a boy – Beppe Bianchi – but I get the impression she would rather have danced with somebody else. The impression became stronger when she came home from a field trip the next day and promptly got on the phone. Although she’s still too young to think about acquiring a dynasty spouse, what I overheard of her conversation was … intriguing.

“You don’t mind taking out the garbage?” she said at one point.

And later – “You’re interested in painting portraits?”

Who could this paragon of virtue be, I asked. “Goopy GilsCarbo,” she said with a shrug. And the next day she went to meet him at the Etruscan ruins, even though the Spring Festival hadn’t started yet.

He’s a bit older than she is, so it’s possible that he’ll get involved with someone else before she’s old enough to marry. For now, they’re just friends.

I’ve been making progress on my various requirements. I’ve maxed Alchemy and learned all the available recipes. I still need to make another 90 elixirs and throw quite a few of them at people. I’m trying to become a mystic healer by curing 12 zombies. I also restored the siminity of a werewolf, but apparently that doesn’t count.

I’ve completed my six black ops – all gardening related. It’s likely that I’ll max the skill of gardening eventually.

Carlo’s ghost has started coming out of his grave. He likes to sit in the rocking chair, and we might put one out on the porch for him now that he won’t be bothered by the cold. I was very glad to see him again.

Tell Diana that Qusul is settling in nicely. He had a birthday the other evening, but didn’t tell anyone about it.

We keep learning about skills we didn’t know he had. He managed to fix the dishwasher the other day without having to kneel down in the puddle of water it had spewed out.

And the other day I found him in the kitchen doing something strange – he wouldn’t tell me what it was, then claimed he’d been taking a nap.

Did Diana find out anything about this when she interviewed him? Congrats on your promotion! Love, Mercy

Haha, I had a knee-jerk territorial response about Goopy!  He's been in my Dynasty house since he was a toddler and is currently married to Immortal #2 (also a Mancini daughter, but Camillo's).  He is a great hubbo, and he has gorgeous, deep blue eyes.

Everyone just loves Goopy, don't they? Hopefully there won't be any other ladies fighting for him.

I was just going to say... Goopy is very popular. But someone  ::) beat me to it!
Maybe he will stay free long enough for Aurelia's interest? If she's still interested then...
Artemis is doing so well! Does it take long to make an elixir? (I must make a point of reading the Super-Natural Guide.)
Qusul keeps intriguing me (great pictures) and his missive to his commander came as a big surprise!
Attractive wide-nosed woman, husband's emanation... Love it!  :D

I really enjoyed this update.  I think Goopy is going to become the next Chris Steel and he'll appear in most of the dynasties in Monte Vista.

I found Qusul's report to his commander very "Third Rock from the Sun" or "Mork and Mindy".  So till next post... nanu nanu. ;D

The Sengs also have an attractive, artistic teen son at the start of the game.  In my practice file, he was the lucky winner of Spouse #1, while is parents and sister did the requirement slave labor.

Re:  Goopy -- Usually one or more of my Sims in TS2 were friends with him, but I don't remember him as being quite so good-looking. I agree that he'll probably become the Christopher Steel for Monte Vista.

@SimBlip -- making elixirs doesn't take that long, and as your Sim gains experience, it becomes more likely that you'll get 2 or 3 each time. The tiresome thing is that you can't queue them up, and you can't "make many" like you can with inventions.

@ Magz -- Ah, a double blast from the past! I'll have to get the egg chair for Qusul to transmit from. Nanu nanu!

You actually can queue up making elixirs, you just get interrupted in whatever you're doing with another sim to pick what type of elixir they make.

Ahhh, I love Goopy! But then, doesn't everyone? Qusul's missive was very--enlightening. Muahaha. No not really, but it was pretty funny!

Chapter Seven – True Love?

Dear Diana,

Prom sounds like it was a bummer. I’ve always wished I had a little brother or sister, but maybe I’m better off.

What’s new with me? Well, the other evening one of my friends, Sunshine Monty, came around trick-or-treating. Girl, it’s springtime! I said, but I gave her candy anyway.

Mom says she can’t teach me to drive because the only vehicle we have (other than our brooms) is Qusul’s spaceship, but maybe he’ll let me drive that when I get older. I hope so, ‘cuz it’s way cool.

Then this guy that I liked – a lot – who was older than me turned into a werewolf.

Which means I can’t have a relationship with him, at least not until Mom has finished curing zombies with her potent cure elixirs. So far she’s only done 5 of 12 (well, 6 actually, but for some reason one didn’t register). What’s funny is that I felt bad at first, but it soon wore off. We’re still friends, but I don’t feel like my life is over.

Of course, one reason I don’t mind about Goopy is that I’ve been getting more involved with Beppe. He’s the guy I danced with at the prom. He graduated, too, but since then, he’s sent me a note and a nice painting (I’ve got it hanging over the bed), and he’s asked me out. We went to the Spring Festival, and while we were talking, he asked me to tell him a secret. I said “I love you,” – yeah, just like that. You know those old cartoons where somebody runs off the edge of a cliff and looks down and sees that there’s no ground and plummets? Well, for a second I felt like that, but then the ground was right there under my feet, and I was okay.

And if Beppe turns into a vampire or werewolf or fairy, I know that I’ll shake Mom until she gives me one of her elixirs for him. He’s kind of childish, but as far as I'm concerned, that’s cute.

Anyway, don’t worry about Prom. It was just one night, and you’re so pretty and smart that you’ll have all the boys in town knocking at your door – you’ll see! Big hug, Aurelia

Second Report from Tier 4 Agent Qusul

Delta Sector Commander, I salute you!

Transmitting station has been improved.

Regret that information sent you was incomplete. Regret that Tier 7 Agent Qedek died even though he had portrait and ice statue. Will ascertain nature of black ops.

Sims have something called “sense of humor.” Portrait painter here told me ice tasted good. When told it hurt, he laughed.

Asked attractive wide-nosed woman for permission to get energy from visiting photographer. Permission was granted.

Dead Gatherer came for Stray Cat last night. Took opportunity to ask how to obtain immortality. Dead Gatherer told me to look at rules on Forum. Will find Forum.
