Solid orange makes me think of prison jumpsuits, plus it might be Claudia's favorite color, but not her watcher's.

I burst out laughing when I saw this. You're so right.
I personally can't stand working with orange (and yellows) either. :)

I can't stand yellow either SimBlip, orange isn't so bad, there's a distinct liking for sea foam among the males in my dynasty, they get dressed in something else instead  ;D

I like what you did with those diagonal stripes, I rarely think of using those other than on male swim trunks.

Turoskel, Basil's favorite color is sea foam, so he gets gray- green instead.

Chapter Seven – A Diary Entry

Dear Diary,

I like Cousin Woden a lot, but I just can’t tell him about my innermost feelings, so I’m writing to you instead. I think he’d understand.

Anyway, now that I’m a teen, I’ve started going to the same school as Basil.

And the last afternoon of winter, we had a talk.

He said we’re too young to get into a relationship, that the Grannies should have realized that. He said there was space in the house for me to marry someone else in case I wanted to.

“Does that mean you’ve got a girlfriend?” I asked, trying to keep my voice from sounding shaky.

“No,” he said. “It means I don’t think you should have to marry me unless you want to. You might meet someone else.”

I thought about the other kids at school. “You don’t have a lot of competition,” I said.

He laughed, then said, “You might meet someone in college."

And…that was the moment Mom picked to become an elder.

When you think about it, it was actually a pretty eventful evening. When Mom went to pick out her new wardrobe, one of the paparazzis died.

And then Granny Aurelia went to Good Guys, Inc., to foil the plot of the evil Dr. Iniquitous.

She managed to save Monte Vista from all the jellybean bushes that he had intended to have planted, but Dr. Iniquitous escaped.

After so much excitement, Mom’s new wardrobe seems kind of pedestrian, but here it is anyway. She got a new hairstyle, too. This is everyday:

Formal:

Athletic:

Outerwear:

Her hair’s a slightly lighter color than it used to be, but Dad warned me not to say anything to her about it.

Okay, back to the interesting stuff. The next day, when we got off the school bus, Basil suggested we go to the Spring Festival.

“Oh!” I said. “Is this, like, a date?”

“Sort of,” he confessed. “I’ll have my birthday tomorrow, and then you and I will have to be just friends until you have your birthday. And I got to thinking, and I realized that I didn’t want you to get involved with someone else just because you thought I wasn’t interested…”

That was when he handed me the flowers.

“I know orange is your favorite color, but if you look at them in a red light, they’ll appear orange,” he explained.

We sat down to look at the stars, and I just about fainted when he put his hand on top of mine.

We talked a little while longer, but our curfew was looming, so we had to go home. But before we did…

…he blew a flower kiss in my direction.

The next morning, Basil had his birthday. I had to go to school right after he blew out the candles.

When I came home, Granny Aurelia told me what she’d seen from her window at the Sanatorium.

“There’s only one reason I can think of why he’d become human,” she said. “I hope you’re not leading him on, Claudia.”

I wanted to say that he was the one leading me on, but Granny Aurelia is not someone you can argue with. So it looks like I’m sort of engaged. I think I’m okay with that, but it seems like I’m going to have a long wait.

Basil got a job as a sculptor and showed us his new clothes. Here’s everyday:

Formal:

Outerwear:

Then he went off to college, to major in Fine Arts, (he got a scholarship) but before he left he gave me a hug that wasn’t romantic, but was a little more intense than just a friendly one.

Two hours later, Basil was back again. “I got out of the van just before it left Monte Vista. I couldn’t leave,” he said. He didn’t look at me when he said it, but I had a pretty strong feeling that I was the reason he didn’t want to leave.

I think I'm probably saying this a bit late, but I love what Claudia looks like. A lot of female Sims seem to have really round, soft features. Claudia is a little more angular and has a stronger jawline, and it's very pretty and refreshingly different.

Basil has been my favourite for a while. I think it's dreadful he had to become human. But I do not love him any less for it.
I think cousin Wooden would agree. :)

My file is glitched, so I'm setting this aside. I'm really sorry to say good-bye to the family, but Claudia will be continuing. She's at University now, getting ready to explore the future.

Well that was unexpected! And after so much time playing the file, too.  :(

Glad to hear the Claudia will be continuing on, though.
