On no Qusul, you were the reason for so many funny moments.  :(
Hopefully Janet and the little plantsim-to-be will soften the household's pain a little bit.

I just (finally!) read through the first four pages, decided Qusul was my favorite character . . . then Qusul died on the 5th page. Fate is a cruel, cruel thing.
I expect Azokka either to yell at everyone and totally dominate or else get out the popcorn.-Ombradellarosa

Ugh, it's such a shame he didn't get to harvest the plant sim! It would've been nice to have his memory live on, so to speak. I like Janet's make over; very garden-y. And Virgil trying to mind meld with Grim and getting dye in his grandmother's hair, hehe! ("What, grams, you dye your hair all the time! What's wrong with this one?")

Aw! Qusul...  :'(
The idea of a plantsim is so intriguing. I hope it can still work.
I continue to enjoy your story tremendously, even if you hardly ever reply to your readers' comments.
Lovely updates! :)

Chapter Seven – Surprise!

Dear Diana,

I wonder if you can guess what the surprise is? I’ll tell you some things that it’s not. It’s not Janet aging up to adult. We figured she would do that once she quit being a fairy.

Speaking of Janet – and I apologize in advance for being critical, but I have to let off steam to someone – she is really rather tiresome. Maybe I’m just jealous because she didn’t get stuck with a mid-life crisis. She does, however, spend a fair amount of time admiring herself in the mirror in our bedroom. She also has a tendency to make kind of back-handed compliments, like telling me that it was so sensible of me to wear sturdy shoes for fishing and that she admired my attachment to an old-fashioned hairstyle.

And then, she wanders around the house in the skimpiest of nightwear. Virgil doesn’t seem the least bit interested, thank goodness, although that might change once he gets older.

If he falls in love with her, okay, I’ll have to live with that, but I’m not going to push him into marriage with her.

Anyway, the surprise is not that Qusul returned as a ghost so quickly. We didn’t know if an alien could become a ghost, so we were pleased to see him.

Nor is the surprise the fact that I finally caught my 350th fish, thus supermaxing my skill.

All I have to do now is make three more best friends (easily accomplished with Mom’s potent friend elixir) and reach the top of my career. To accomplish the latter, I’ve been playing lots of computer games. I can hear you chortling way over in Lucky Palms, but there’s a reason for my playing. When I reach a high status with the nerds, I can add the workaholic trait to my personality and start working at home.

The surprise is not even that Janet pulled a baby out of the ground. From everything Mom and I had read, we were pretty sure that would happen.

What did surprise us was the fact that it was a boy, one who didn’t possess any of his mother’s traits. He’s athletic and good, and Janet is neither. Mom was sure that he’d be a clone of Janet, or at least the same gender, but that didn’t happen. Nevertheless, we’re all delighted with him.

He doesn’t require anything except sleep and love. I have to say I’m relieved that Virgil will be able to pick out a wife for himself. (However, Mom is planting more watermelons. If Virgil has a daughter, then Basil can marry the daughter, she says.)

Our other news is that Virgil has become a young man.

His lifetime wish is to have a perfect aquarium, something that can be easily accomplished with all the fish I’ve caught. Mom asked me to wait a bit before I set them up – she wants him to take a wish-enhancing elixir first. All she needs is a red admiral butterfly – something Virgil failed to catch on his first try.

Here is his wardrobe. Everyday for summer first:

Formal:

Pajamas:

And Outerwear:

Virgil really wants to go to China to study martial arts, but he’s agreed to go to college first and find a nice girl. I don’t really care about whether he graduates.

I was so glad to hear that Woden made the honor roll. Incidentally, Mom says she’d love to read anything he wants to write. Oh, and we’re thinking about getting chickens. Love, Aurelia

Chickens? What is this? Is this a thing? I am really excited now!

In other news, Janet is delighting me. I think I really have a thing for Snobs. I know some people hate them, but I think it was Julienne Knack that made me love them. How strange that the plantboo was a boy! I have never heard of such a thing! That should be interesting.

It's smart to have a LTW for Virgil that can be completed quickly and easily, but isn't that going to make him want to fish a lot?

Rosa,

A chicken coop is supposed to come tomorrow at the Sims 3 Store.

Snobs are fun to write about -- and read about, too. My favorites are Mapp and Lucia from the books by E.F. Benson.

I think wishes are influenced more by traits. Anyway, Virgil will be busy enough breaking boards and sparring to do much fishing.

WHAT? A real chicken coop with chickens in it? Is this the best Premium Content of all time? I want 5!

Wishes are influenced by both traits and LTW. No matter your traits, you will get wishes related to your LTW and those will be power wishes, worth more than they would otherwise be. But yes, you will get wishes related to your traits regardless.

So if Virgil has a daughter who then marries Basil, will you end up curing Basil of his plantiness?

Huh, I thought plantsims would be the same gender as the "parent". How cool! I wonder if the sim stays green after being cured of plantsiminess. And chickens?? How cool. I don't why, but that sounds kinda awesome. It was nice to see Qusul again; I'm glad his ghost can come visit. Also, I agree with Rosa about enjoying snobby sims.

Tilia, I'd have to cure Basil in order to have children. I doubt that he'll stay green, but you never know.

Wow some really amazing events here.
I did not understand the bit where she says that playing computer games will give her the workaholic trait. How can that happen?
Lovely to see Qusul again - even as a ghost. This was a very interesting update. :)

SimBlip, University Life gave us Social Groups, and when your sim gets to level 8 of a social group, you get to add a new trait. (You can also add a new trait when you graduate from university, but some people have had trouble getting that to happen.) Playing computer games will move a sim up through the Nerd group ranks very quickly, which is how Aurelia was able to add "workaholic."

Oh my! That is just grand!!!
I must get University sometime soon. But - if it's not too much to ask - how many traits can be added? Or do Sims lose a trait they already had? Thank you, Marian. :)
