Hi, I'm new to the forums, and new to challenges. But I figured what better way to start than with a lot of babies...lol

I have a quick question though. How do you know when a child has completed the collecting challenge if we can't see it in the skills journal. Will it still pop up when we've collected all of the items, or will we have to recognize that ourselves???

Thanks

Kat

In the child's inventory screen there's a green book on the left, the Collection Journal,  that also holds data on collecting. You can use that to see if the challenge is completed

Has anyone ever seen this before?

No babysitter ever actually shows up - my sim was having a home birth, hubby was home too, and she walked off the lot, all the way around to the back of the lot to put the baby down before having the next one. She stayed frozen, tossing up between putting baby #2 down, and having baby #3. The babies then appeared on the lot without being put down.

The poor parents, Aidan and Brooke, popped out 68, (LOTS of multiples) and both obviously completed their LTW of surrounded by family.

But Ella, I thought the parents life time wishes needed to be unique, even as the children's are.....therefore, something's not right, and both of the parent's LTWs are invalidated.

Anna is right - the parents did not achieve a unique LTW if they have the same - so your score is incorrect.  Please correct it when you get a chance.

Sims who have moved out = 62x3= 186? (I'm not sure, but I think so, I'm horrible at math and I don't have a calculator. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong))
Sims in the Household who achieved their LTW and purchased their 1 unique LTR (all LTW of final Household members must be unique) = 4x2=8
Sims in the Household who did not attain their LTW or purchase their LTR =   2x1=2
Final Score: 186+8+2=196

According to her math she didn't count them. She had a total of 70 Sims including the parents. 62 moved out, 8 stayed home. She only counted 6 of the 8 remaining Sims: 4 at home with LTW/LTR finished and 2 at home without them.

62x3 = 186
4x2=8
2x1= 2

186+8+2=196

I need Ella to confirm this.   When it comes to scores, we can't assume anything.

Ella, this unfortunately is a serious problem having both parents complete the same LTW. Both parents are obviously FINAL household members and the following rule is not just a scoring rule...

Quote
Sims in the Household who achieved their LTW and purchased their 1 unique LTR (all LTW of final Household members must be unique) = 2 points

...the bold portion is something all players in this event have to understand and make happen at the time the mother turns Elder and it's time to compute the score.

Chuckles, that's the message I see whenever a parent leaves a baby or toddler alone on a lot.  It seems to be the game's way of saying "Teleporting forgotten baby home."  No babysitter ever appears on the home lot or community lot.  It's possible the game thought the babies being born were technically off the lot, which would explain the teleportation part of the delivery.

Unfortunately, college and a teething baby of my own ate all of my time, so I'm going to have to throw in the towel. So, my final score is:
3 moved out,
2 sims living at home with YA req complete: 2
Other sims still living at home: 6

So, (3*3)+(2*2)+(6*1)=9+4+6=19

I could have gotten further had I not hosed up the Sims computer and not having a ton of things for school hitting at the same time. It was total madness and lots of fun :)

If you deleted the save file from inside the game, you may still have backup file available. Just rename it to remove the .backup and it should show back up in the options.

You allowed two of your Sims to have the same LTW thereby breaking the rules,that is what you did wrong. I would have been interested in hearing what LTW your other Sims completed but obviously not right now.
For future reference never delete your challenge files until after the even closes as winners are always expected to reveal exactly how they got their scores.

Good luck with the next tournament event.

Using a dresser to plan outfit for the mother in Baby Boomers is now banned!

Using a dresser resets the age of a Sim with the most recent patch.
