The worst feeling in the world is starting your file, feeling great, and then realizing that you're still on Patch 1.47. :(

Go ahead and patch up.  The newest patch was really minor and as long as you do it ASAP.  You're ok.

I have earphones plugged into my desktop and far away from me, so I'm not hearing crying babies or phone calls.

I don't find the crying babies too bad. The baby and toddler stage seems to be the easiest for me. I'm sick of collecting things. I swear there's an easier way. Somehow.. >.>

Edit: I'm such an idiot. Jumped on and though of an easier way. Can't believe I've wasted all this time >.< time to get it all back!

As long as the General Rules or specific challenge rules do not prevent you from doing something, then you're fine.

Just remember if you've started your scoring file - you can't redo it.

Yep, I know. Just a case of catching up on missed time now. And it is the start of my game really, so I'm lucky I figured it out sooner rather than later :)

Yeah I found out something about 6 weeks in that I can't wait to share with everyone. Haha.  I felt like such a dunce.  Good luck!

I've felt like this several times.  I'll do something the hard way once or twice (or seven times) and then remember a way it could be done much easier.  I'll be tempted to go back and replay this challenge unofficially once I'm done, using all I've learned, to see how much better I might have done. :)

I'm at four and it feels like I'm twiddling my thumbs cause things can't go any faster. Can't wait to see all the tips everyone has at the end!

And il probably redo it unoffically as well afterwards.

I'm 19 sim days away from finishing this and one of my teens was on the back porch sculpting a metal sculpture and ended up dead. His ghost is orange and smoking which is satellite death but there's no satellite anywhere and I don't think he could have set himself on fire because the game never switched to him until he was dead. I have the fireproof homestead as the father's LTR so I don't think it was a fire accident. Anyways can I resurrect him and finish my challenge or is he uncounted and I make another? Grrrr.  I haven't started a scoring card yet so maybe I'll just start over. So frustrating, he was almost ready to move out :(.

If it's orange and black it's meteor.  If it's just orange and kind of yellow - then it's a fire accident.  Also - the game doesn't always move your camera over if they catch fire especially if you're moving stuff around with the camera yourself.  Your controls are a priority over the games.    Another thing is that even with fireproof homestead, you can still have a Sim die by butt fire via sculpting or inventing.

Just like it was mentioned a few questions up about rezzing the father - if the rules don't forbid it then it's allowed.

LOL Butt fire.... He isn't black at all and I was messing around with another sim moving the camera so I bet it was butt fire.
