Hi everyone! I just have a few questions to ask before I continue on my new practice file. First off, is it ok to change the life states (vampire, werewolf, witch, etc.) of the children of the founders? Also, are you allowed to save sims to the bin in CAS, and then use them on the official challenge?

Sorry! I didn't realize I had post it last night. I was on my phone and the window closed, so I had assumed it hadn't posted.

Yes it means no pets. Anything that adds to a slot is adding to the household and that includes pets.

One small question.  I know we aren't allowed to add pets but by not being able to adopt pets some of the LTW's can't be completed which lowers the choices.  Or is there a way to complete these LTW's without actually adopting?

That's what the challenges are all about. Making the best of certain restrictions and limitations. If we could just do everything, what would the challenge be?

Sims in the Household who achieved their LTW and purchased their 1 unique LTR (all LTW of final Household members must be unique) = 2 points

How should i read these lines?
The LTW of final household members must be unique, only from each other or also from the LTWs of moved out children?

ooh, tricky :) I'd interpret that as unique within the family tree.

Well there is this rule:
Young Adult Stage Goals:
• If a Young Adult completes a unique LTW and purchases 1 unique LTR, they can be moved out.

I'm with Chuckles, I think that all family members, both in the house and moved out, have to have a unique LTW.

Correct. They do.

Does "No Simbots" mean:

No Simbots, period.

or

Simbots may not be added to the household.  You may use the My Best Friend LTR or have an inventor make them, but they must be immediately released into the wild.

Thanks for the clarifications you provide in this thread.

I've got a couple questions here, from things I've noticed while starting a practice play through for this(Never participated in challenges before, this looks to be extremely fun!).

For one: When starting my practice family, I was offered a lot challenge(meteor strike). I assume that since these have different effects than starting normally, these should be ignored, as they may present difficulties or advantages other players don't get?

For two: Age staggering. For a challenge that ends when your female becomes Elder, the age staggering can do a lovely job of shooting you in the foot. For one, my practice family has started with the man 44 days from aging up, where the woman is at 37. That cuts a full -week- off of time I can be using to play the challenge. In this case would it be acceptable to use a mod to stop age staggering so everyone is on the same footing? If not, is it just a crapshoot that some people get the full 90 days to play, while others may only get 83 or less?

I don't know about the lot challenge, but I do know that the age issue is just something you have to deal with. Mods of any kind are banned from challenges.

You can deal with the lot challenge at the beginning or ignore it -- it's up to you.

@ Sarabi I'm of the view that "No Simbots" means no simbots, period. Two reasons - the ruling on pets was no, as they take up a spot in the household and so does a simbot if added. The second is that Simbots are allowed in the Immortal Dynasty challenge (separate from these tournament challenges, but decided upon by the same team) but they must be released. So if we were allowed to do that it would be stated in the rules.

Correct. No Simbots means none at all.

Yeah it's a crap shoot but that's one of the challenges with playing any of the forums challenges.   If you happen to get a female who is a little older than it's just one of those things you need to roll with.

As said before Lot challenge is up to you.   Sometimes it's a good way to get a little extra cash upfront and sometimes it can cause you more harm than good.   It's another one of those crapshoots really.
