The rules state the dad's life state does not matter. That's all you need to know.
 :)

Oh. Well, awkward. Sorry for the inconvenience.
My first attempt at this challenge thing, should be fun. I just hope that in my score file, the consignment store won't break in the first week like now.

Okie I've been practicing and this IS challenging!

Insane is the word :D!

But have a small problem. I was using Appalosa Plains.

In high school, once my first five teenagers were done, it is virtually impossible to find a romantic interest who was unique. And I even had same sex pairings! So I guess its better to practice in Sunset Valley or Riverview cos the population is much more dynamic!

Yep, but part of the strategy is choosing which town to play in... don't discuss :)

It is fun, I've figured out my parents and a good strat for newboos, toddlers, children and half of the teen portion.  I need to do a bit more homework on what order to do things with the ya's to get them out the door faster but I'm thinking I'll manage a decent middle-of-the-pack score rather than the dragging up the tail end like I thought I would when I first looked at this one.

Edit: a question I thought of while playing my practice - Is simporting allowed?  I know no vacations, but are we allowed to simport to other towns?

No Simporting. Tournament Challenges are solo games only. In Dynasties I do not care.

Cool.  The opportunity came up in my test run for a performer type sim, I figured I'd ask.  I'd not use it anyway (Simport doesn't work the way I thought it did when it first came up)

Best thing to do in my opinion is to not be logged on in challenge files. Since gifting is not allowed and neither is Simport, this will prevent any unintentional rule breaking.

An excellent suggestion. Thank you.

Hi

Any suggestions on how to deal with the "no gifting" element in the general rules.

Do we just delete them or is there a way to prevent them occurring. Not sure if opting out of the online dating system would prevent them - any ideas?

No gifting is referring to the gifts you receive from other people via the game's online functions.   With the patch that came before supernatural, members can now send each other potions, surprise boxes and surprise elixirs and doing this will get a person LTHP.   The way to avoid this is to not send any while playing that file and to not accept any via the mailbox or your player wall while playing.

The gifts you receive from the attraction system can't be turned off and are allowed.

Ahh ok - Thanks for the clarification.  Great suggestion above then, playing offline.

So are the gifts that come via the celebrity ratings also allowed then or should we opt out of the celebrity ratings system?

General rules state that population controls are the player's choice.  If you want to be a celebrity and get those gifts, it's allowed but you can only choose that option once and it has to stay that way for the entire file.  The easiest thing to do would be to choose the option you want for all games you play using that Sims 3 folder.
