Are we allowed to cake up on actual birthday if we don't finish the task for early cake up?

No restriction on where you start out or if you move so long as the entire household moves.

All challenge games are played on the long setting(baby 7 days, toddler 15 days, child 15 days and teen 30 days) if you do not complete the tasks in this time then yes you can age them up on their actual birthday.

Thanks, it is obviously a limitation of my current strategy that I'll need to figure out.  I was just wondering because in my current test run I have a set of twin nooboos who hit their birthday while the dad only had them as good friends (mom is best friends).  Like I said earlier, I'm fully prepared to submit a weak score on this one :D

The "caking up" only refers to aging sims before their natural birthday, correct? If it's their natural birthday and they haven't reached their requirements, they are still allowed to age up?

(Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I was reading through the thread and it seems like there's some confusion on how the aging works... or maybe I just got unsure whilst reading!)

TIA!

Definitely. It's not like you cannot play those kids anymore that did not meet their requirements.

The term "caking up" is typically used in relation to getting a Sim to the next age earlier than normal. Even if you use a cake on their birthday...well...it's still their birthday...all day, so you're not aging them up early.

Oh no! I completely missed that. I've never changed my lifespan from normal, mind you I've never considered a challenge either.
I'm not sure if that makes it easier or harder now, it certainly makes my practise game file null and void...its only 18 days in, I guess it coulda been worse.
90 adult days ...WOW! That is a REAL challenge!
Thanks for pointing that out for a noob like me. What a numpty I am!

I didn't realise that at first either, but then I read the General Rules, and that's where it's written :)

Another quick question - I know that no one can have the same LTW, not even the parents, but do the parents' LTRs have to be unique? Eg can both mother and father have 'Observant', or the mother and one child both have 'Steel Bladder'?

According to what I understand, all your sims can have steel bladder or observant, as long as those LTR are not claimed by any one of your sim.  So if Sim A claims "steel bladder" as one of the unique LTR, then nobody in the house can buy that.

Ah, I see. Thanks!

Do we have to inspire all the unique lifetime wishes to roll or can we choose them through the choose another wish interaction?

My understanding is that it's the babies who need to be best friends with Mom & Dad, and that it doesn't matter once the babies age up...that's how I was reading it anyway. Metro & company, please correct me if that's not the case.

You are correct. The Best Friend requirement is only for the Baby stage.

This is my kind of challenge. I normally like to play families anyway so I think this will fit in with my playing style more than some challenges. Already started practising!
