I wholeheartedly agree.  I'm about 3 weeks in, and already seem to be developing the Insane trait.  I usually play smallish households.

Hello, I just joined the forum because I felt like trying out for this challenge (bad timing though, three days away from a test oops) and I have one question

I know that we can have practice games, but must we state our intent to participate before we start the actual scoring file? Sorry I'm just a bit confused about that

Welcome to the forum! 

We work on the honor system meaning when you submit your score, we trust that you only did your "official scoring file" only the one time no matter what happens.  No need to state intent. Come back to this thread when you're done and post your score before the deadline to be counted.   Just have fun and good luck!

Short answer, yes, if they also have their LTR. Anyone who has completed the LTW and LTR requirements but not moved out counts. Anyone.

Hmm thanks, I was assuming it applied only if we'd completed all requirements upto the YA ones -- so basically just the parents. Will change my endgame a little so good I asked I guess!! Thanks again!

Ha ha!!! Gosh, at this point I am feeling sorry for them!! LOL for the first 5 kids sim mom and sim dad pretty much had poor hygiene all the time, their moodlets were low, and their house was a complete filthy mess!

I just kept thinking, I'm sorry I'm doing this to you 

Haha luckily our Simmies' memory is really really short.... Yea, the first five kids were hard, but thanks to high LTHP wishes for every birth and toddler training, I was able to afford a couple of LTR that has seriously saved my life!

/sigh   So my challenge was buggy before but it just bugged out seriously on me. I am looking for permission to restart my official game file. It was buggy in that every time I loaded up I would have to go to edit town and move household (not physically move it just click move and click again and save as is, in order for my map tags to come up.

The most recent bug is the other families disappeared. The ones who stayed around had their sim children age backwards!! Dale Wolff now has three toddlers even though his sim children should be the same age as my sims. I have absolutely no teens in the hood now making a romance impossible. I am handling my other bugs but this one has me stumped and definitely affects my game play for the challenge. Let me know. I will plug away the best I can and at least finish getting my last two children to teens and their careers done until I hear back from the moderators. Thank you...

Hello.
I'm three days in and experiencing a very annoying glitch. The sound effect signifying that you just completed an opportunity is stuck in an infinite loop. Restarting does not help.

Any ideas?

Turn off all sounds, restart the whole computer.  Slowly bring your sound back on once you're restarted.

Then play without sounds would be my suggestion.  It's only the noise that is happening and that can be avoided.

I was really looking forward to this challenge, but this is just putting me off.
I really don't want to have to play without sound. For me, that's taking away an entire dimension of game play.

If possible, I would like to humbly request a restart. I'm only 3 days in...
If not, I think I will be giving up on this challenge.

If your request is denied, I'd say go ahead and play, because when the babies start coming you may want the sound off anyway. Otherwise, you'll hear a lot of screaming toddlers, Mom giving birth, and birthday parties.

Once an official file has been started, you can't restart unless you have a serious game breaking bug/glitch.   Having a sound play over and over is not a bug or game breaking - it's an annoyance.   So no to the restart.  If you don't want to finish the challenge with your current scoring file, that is your personal choice.  You can submit your current score if you want so that you can be counted on leaderboard and it will go towards your world ranking later.

I've had the music from build/buy mode get stuck in live mode but it eventually went away.   I clear my caches often and always restart my computer completely and that fixes it for me.   Sometimes just having my sim do something that causes a different sound can trigger it to go away when I can't be bothered to restart at that exact moment.

I did some research and read that moving the family out and back in via edit town could fix the issue.

If that works - why not have the family move houses in town without using Edit town?
