Well, wish me luck :D  Starting my scoring file.  I hope I don't kill my sim like I did the handyman challenge.  Good luck to all of you as well.
Just remember if they sky gets dark, get out of dodge! ;D LOL! Run! But good luck!

Kitty -- I forgot, the resetsim cheat is allowed if anyone gets stuck.

Kitty -- I forgot, the resetsim cheat is allowed if anyone gets stuck.

No problem, I know that one. Am having a huge freak at the moment as I have a feeling that I just cheated! My young adults were created at exactly the same time, but it happens to be that they have different times for aging up. My girl has got 23 days to an adult, my man has 27 days to go! It's Week 1, Day 6. All I've done is send my girl for a massage and a pedicure at the spa.

So my question is: Have I cheated and have to start again, or is everything fine?

When you make Sims in CAS and then place them in the world, their ages can be random so because it's a long life span you could have gotten sims that were anywhere between 45 days to Adult and 7 days to Adult.  45 being the maximum because that's how many days are in the YA and adult life stages on long settings.

Thanks, it is obviously a limitation of my current strategy that I'll need to figure out.  I was just wondering because in my current test run I have a set of twin nooboos who hit their birthday while the dad only had them as good friends (mom is best friends).  Like I said earlier, I'm fully prepared to submit a weak score on this one :D

You're not alone! Out of my current six kids I had to let the middle ones age up from baby to toddler on their own because I didn't know how to deal with my elder toddlers. Hopefully by the end of the challenge I'll have it under control! (I knew I didn't have time nor the patience to do test runs on my glitchy game, so that's probably my fault)

this looks like a lot of fun! I am new to the Sims 3 and will probably fail miserably, but will still try.  one question: does my game have to have the latest patch?

I noticed that the rules don't mention Lot Restrictions. Is it safe to assume I can start in a pre-built house, as opposed to an empty lot?

If it doesn't specifically say it, then yes you can do it.  So yes you can choose any lot you want as long as you get it legally.

The collecting challenges for the Child stage only specific exclude mushrooms.  However, children apparently cannot analyze space rocks, so does that nullify the Amateur Rock Finder challenge?

Another question, sorry.... Can your sims (both of them) get the inheritance reward for more cash?

Thanks

Yes, but they would both need at least another LTR because otherwise it wouldn't be unique  :)

Kitty, you can buy any Lifetime Reward that isn't expressly forbidden in the rules. If more than one of your Sims purchases a Lifetime Reward, however, you cannot count it as their unique Lifetime Reward for scoring purposes.
