Roxanne - I removed your edit because it was strategy and research that a player must do on their own. You can't give that kind of information until after the challenge is over.
Sorry, Rica. I didn't realize that would be strategy. I assumed it was okay because the page was there on the guide and all I did was share the link.
Speaking of strategy, I do have a few things I'd like to share. For those who don't already know ( who I assume, are only the people without Seasons), the big strategy was upgrading umbrellas/parasols. The upgrade is super quick and takes only about 15 seconds to complete. There are two upgrades available: Unbreakable and Glow. Both take the same amount of time, so you would do either and then replace it with the other, and so on. ( at least that's what I did )
I gave my Sim the Handy, Over-Emotional, Ambitious, Loves The Outdoors, and Loner traits. And Swimming In Cash, for the LTW. I also made my Sim a Genie. It doesn't help that much but Genies do learn skills faster, move quickly and I also noticed that the weather doesn't seem to affect them. ( so, no annoying moodlets. I had weather effects turned off, but the heat and the cold was still a problem, since my Sim was going to spend all of her time outdoors ) I went to the Elixir Consignment Shop on the first day and kept on buying elixirs until I got a Midas Touch and a few Wish Enhancing Serums and Potent Skill Boosters. With the Midas touch the LTW was quickly fulfilled and the Lifetime Happiness Points were doubled, thanks to the Wish Enhancing Serum. I then got a Motive Mobile, started upgrading and only stopped for quick rides. I also got the Steel Bladder LTR and a hundred tomatoes. Don't laugh! When you're busy upgrading, hunger and bladder needs are the first ones to drop. So those two things give you some extra time before you have to use the motive mobile for a drive. This was great fun!
And big congratulations to Simblip! It must have been pretty hard to get all those upgrades done-- I couldn't possibly think of doing one more, let alone a hundred!
Edited to add: There's more, but it's all covered in last year's Handiness Championship thread, which I read
throughly before getting started.
