You did great.  I think there's going to be two distinct groups in the scoring here and you have a respectable score for the group you fell into.  I'd be very surprised if there are many who get around 500 upgraded; I expect there's going to be the people in the 1000's and the people in the 100's with very few in between.

I know people who would make it their mission to get a 500 now.  Everyone has done well in my opinion and it's only week one!

Easy to get a 500ish... get on the roll for a 1000's score and stop upgrading things sometime late week 2 to early week 3 ;)

Try as I might, I couldn't reverse engineer the trick to the crazy amount of upgrades.  I'm really curious to find out what the secret is!  (I did manage to find a buggy object with a broken upgrade timer, which might've been exploitable in my game, but it's both against the spirit of the competition and also wound up wasting my sim's time before I figured out what was wrong with it. As soon as the unique upgrade was completed it was deleted from the shack Hendy Minn called home!)

Since I had no hope of catching up in terms of quantity, I tried for quality instead.  ;)

135 upgrades x 94% unique upgrades = 126 points

Now it's time for the nooboo factory challenge!  :D

Objects Upgraded: 166
Percent of Unique Upgrades: 80%
166 X 80% = 132.8
Final Score: 132

My goal was to beat my score from last year and I did it!

Well, I've found a way to upgrade pretty quickly, but it doesn't count as an upgrade. But there's stuff you have to do beforehand and it doesn't really save time in the end anyway. I've also found a way to make at least one type of upgrade take longer to complete. So, I know not to use that combo again.

I'll probably play around in my test file for a little more and see what happens. I'm really curious to see what conditions are needed for these super-fast upgrades!

Finished ...

Objects upgraded - 1646
% of unique upgrades 91%

1646 x .91 = 1497

That was fun. ( removed -- Rica )
Good luck all those still to start the challenge

Computer: "A serious error has occurred while loading <name of handyman II challenge file>. It is strongly recommended that you restart the program."

*Me clicks OK*

Computer: "Sims 3 has caused an error and has stopped working."

Me: What? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *CRY*

I know I did save previously. This happened on Handy Tribble's return home from France ... his second trip to France and 3rd trip over all.

What now?

Well, I don't want to say the first obvious thing lol, but have you tried to do what it suggested and restarted?

Oh, I've just seen my post was edited. I didn't realise what I'd put could be construed as strategy. Apologies for that!
It will all come out in the wash, as they say.

Hope your game files are going well everyone.

My first ever challenge complete and I'm pretty proud of myself!!

Objects Upgraded: 152

Percentage of Unique Upgrades: 86%

152x.86=130.72

Final score: 130

Now to look at this baby boomer one, I'm not quite sure how I will go with that one.

At 11:20 pm on Week 4, Day 7, Missy Fixit put down her screwdriver and flatly refused to pick it up again until she got some sleep. She finished with 816 upgrades and 89% of unique upgrades for a score of 726.
