You cannot place residential lots unless you need to add one to play a challenge (as in there isn't one anywhere else) and then it still cannot be a pre-made house.  It has to be an empty lot.

Thanks :) . That makes it clear.

• If the neighborhood you choose has no empty lots on which to build a home (i.e. Bridgeport) you are free to tear down one existing home to have a place to build.

Question? Bridgeport has one free lot on the other side of the bridge to build on.  Does this mean we may add a lot to the city side or tear down one house on the city side to build a home?

Plus if I use this to add like the firehouse then can I just add a lot somewhere as long as I don't tear down anything?

No. It's been quite awhile since I have played Bridgeport and was under the impression there were no free lots. I remember a player telling me that last year. So, if you want to build then you would need to go with any free lot a neighborhood has.

The two free lots Bridgeport comes with are always taken up in my game by showtime lots.   So if a player does have a free lot what takes more precedence - placing missing lots or leaving one open for residence?

Sorry Metro now I'm all confused. :)  I thought we were allowed to add lots anywhere as long as it was only to put missing building ex. firehouse. But if we are not there is only one open lot in Bridgeport so how would I add a lot for the firehouse and the alchemy consignment shop and have a lot to build my house?

I'm sorry that I'm confused but now I'm worried that I've misread the rules along and have been playing them wrong.

Help :)

Bridgeport has a firehouse anyway. Not an elixir consignment store though. If there are no empty lots, you can bulldoze one empty residential lot to place it. You can also place empty lots wherever you can fit them, though there aren't many places to fit them.

Team edit: You cannot bulldoze anything to place a community lot.  Only an empty residential lot.

Thanks Chuckles

I was getting confused I thought you could place empty lots which is great, that's what I have been doing anyways.  As far as there being a firehouse in Bridgeport .... where lol I didn't see it anywhere.

Just so everyone knows.  There is not a firehouse in Bridgeport anymore it is not behind the library now.  Flying V's Coffeehouse is now located there.  My sister (Momofmany) didn't believe me either, I had her open a new Bridgeport lot and sure enough it's not there.  Plus there is only one empty lot in Bridgeport opposite side of the city.  Just thought I'd let you know.

I've put the firehouse in the empty space.  Created an empty space for the Alchemy Consignment Shop and created an empty space to build.  Is this okay for The Gnome is Where the Heart is Challenge?

Ok we clarified this rule:

No.   This is why.  Placing all the lots were fine.   You however cannot create your own residential lot.   As per the rules, you would have to tear down an existing home to make an empty lot for your use if you wanted to build.

Are TCE building cheats allowed? That is, shift-clicking an object and setting certain.. functions. Said object would be obtained completely legally, within specific challenge rules and general rules.

TCE is not an accepted cheat.   So if you have to use it to use the other function - then no.

Until the challenge team receives information that will make us change our minds we have added a new rule to the ruleset.
