Thanks, to be honest I probably haven't given any other towns besides Bridgeport and Sunset Valley a try without it. I have just installed his latest after each new EP or patch. Always read it was a game related bug, not a town related bug. I will give it a shot in the other towns. At worst, I will just play an unofficial go-round of the challenge for my own enjoyment just because it sounds fun. Thanks again for the responses.

Crash to desktop: I assume we don't need approval to launch from our latest save in this event?  I get a lot of crashes / game hanging when I go to map view.  This happens randomly, I can play for hours at a time sometimes, others... not so much.

If you don't have time to save, then what other save would you use?  Always use the most recent one.   To go back to one prior to that would require approval.

Example:

Save at 10:30 AM
Save at 8:35 PM
Crash to Desktop at 9:23

You would use the 8:35 save.  That's your current save.   A previous save would be the 10:30 am and that would be against the rules.

Right, just checking that I don't need to ask for approval to relaunch at the 8:35 save by your example here.  My most recent save is "baby boomer F9" - if I crash, I was just looking to confirm I can reload from that without seeking approval.  I understand to go back to "baby boomer F8" or earlier I would absolutely need to get the go-ahead (as that would only be for severe bugishness and not a simple crash to desktop.)

I don't know if this has been asked already but I'm not exactly sure of something. When you complete a challenge, how do you make it known on the website? Do you just make a post in the individual challenges' thread, saying your score?

People might find it helpful to set up a file just for challenges, by doing a factory reset. Instructions are here.

Question for the technology-challenged folk:
How do I get the to load from a particular file?
and
How do I turn off mods? The only one I use is Overwatch, but I don't know how to turn it on & off.

I'd love to officially join in on some of these (been doing them on my own for a long time), but I don't know how to make sure I have a clean game.

The game loads from whichever folder is named "The Sims 3." I give very cryptic yet distinctive names to each of my folders and rename them as needed.

Overwatch should be removed from the Mods folder before beginning a challenge, and I think that's the only way to truly "turn it off." It won't be there in a clean factory reset, but if that's the only thing you need to remove, it shouldn't be too hard to move it to, say, the desktop without needing a reset.

I'm sure this question has been answered somewhere, but are there any restrictions on our starting lots? Are we allowed to purchase a starter home, or must we build from scratch? If so, are we allowed to use the blueprints to build a house? This is the first year I'm doing any of the Challenges, so I want to be see I'm doing these things right.
