The edit town rules confuse me... regarding:

If I play in Moonlight Falls, can I bulldoze the empty 64x64 "small park" to place a copy of Verde park? - I tried just changing it to big park and it would not let me, the only way I could figure out to get a copy of this big park in was to bulldoze once, then place.

In a similar vein, am I allowed to bulldoze one of the empty small parks to place a coffeehouse? or do I have to find clear land, place the appropriately sized grid and put the coffeehouse on that?

The small parks of Moonlight Falls cannot be bulldozed.   It's one of the things you need to think about before choosing the town you want to play in.   If you want to place those parks, then you need to find a spot to place a lot or find an actually empty lot with no designation to remove and replace with other lots.

On a side note: changing lot designation is completely against the rules.  You can't change anything other than an empty residential lot to a commercial designation when placing a missing lot.

Ooh, I'm excited! One major question though, is Naga's Sunset Valley allowed?

Wow, my practise is way off then. I messed that up all over the place.

Dynasty players - remember there are very separate rulesets for the dynasties and the challenges.   The challenges are much more strict when it comes to Edit Town and the specifics of play.

No.  Only unaltered worlds that came with expansions or Union Cove.

Thanks Rica, that makes it much clearer.  I can find spots for what I need and drop my own grids down.  One more clarification question - 89 Horseshoe bend is an empty 40x40 residential lot (no building on it at all).  From what you've said here, I'm clearly allowed to designate it as a commercial property.  Am I allowed to bulldoze and place a larger or several smaller grids? Or am I completely misunderstanding the rule for bulldozing?  Sorry to be a bit dense here, just want to be sure I'm doing things by the letter and spirit of the rules.

No you can bulldoze that spot and place two 20 x 30s if it will let you and that's what you want.   That's exactly what the rules will allow you to do.

I've been watching the tournaments for a while so am looking forward to finally trying to play along.

Please forgive me for asking a silly question; when you state that Edit Town may be used to replace missing lots does that mean I may not move (for example) an idiotically placed firestation to a lot of the correct size? Do we have to accept how they've been added by the game when you start a new town?

Yes you have to accept the idiotically placed firestation. Lol. ;) Now if you did NOT have the firestation then you could place one where you wanted.

Thanks Metro; I thought that'd be the case. I'll just have to learn to be less annoyed by the firestation not being next to a road  :)

• Only one of a particular building/lot can be added (i.e. one Waylon’s Haunt can be added, not two);

Is it ok to have two dive bars though? Or like one consignment store and then a supernatural consignment store?

The consignment shop that came with Supernatural is an Elixir Consignment shop so it's not the same as the normal consignment shop that came with Ambitions so they are two different types and therefore both allowed.

I don't see a reason to have two dive bars but the rule says particular lot not lot type so as long as they are not the same building/lot I don't think it would be a problem.  Metro could disagree with me on this and say no though.

Agreed. As long as you would not have two identical buildings, you're fine.

Happy New Year everyone! :) And good luck next Monday when the Tournament kicks off.

I am looking forward to trying more challenges!  I only did one last year... didn't have the time to put into it for the others.

I have a question regarding a glitch that frequently shows up in my game.  Often when my sims age up and I get the pop up box that allows me to choose a trait for them, the trait that I've chosen doesn't "stick" and I end up with an empty trait slot.  For something like the baby boomer challenge this could be really frustrating.  Can I use a cheat to correct this?

For the Dynasty events we have a blanket policy that if something like this happens you do not need permission and can use the cheat. I know it's a pain, but at least let the team know what's going in if you run into a snag in a Tournament event so we can  give approval. Thanks.

Hello everyone! I just have a question or two to ask before I continue with my practice. First off, can you change the life states (vampire, witch, werewolf, etc.) of the children of the founders? Also, would making sims and then using the "save to bin" option be allowed? Or do we need to create brand new sims?
