Sorry to double post but I thought it might get over looked if I edited. In the rules it clearly states that we are able to add missing lots but are we able to add a second library or cemetery from a different town? Or delete the current to add a different one?

Not a cemetery, because of the ghosts, but I'm pretty sure you can add the other lots - just no duplicates.

Unless it's an empty house because you don't have anywhere to live, you cannot delete anything in challenges other than empty lots to put other empty lots.

If a town already has a library, then it's not missing one therefore one shouldn't be placed.

I have read through this thread and can't see the answer to this question. Up until the job challenge, I've remade the sims used in the challenge file, mostly with the same traits etc as in my practice file, but wanted to check with regards to the jobs challenge.

If it is a challenge where you make the sim/s for the challenge, can the sims used in the practice file be reused for the challenge file, or do you have to remake the sims?

EG, I have my two sims created for the job challenge, and they've worked out pretty well for me during my practice for the challenge, and I like them with their existing traits etc. So when it comes to my actual challenge file, may I select their fresh versions from the bin or do I need to remake them?

This has been said before I just don't know where at the moment. 

When you start a challenge, the Sims have to come from Create-A-Sim.  You have to Create A Household not Move in Household.   So you would need to save them using a mirror in your test file or before ever actually placing them the first time, remembering to save them to the Sim Bin so you can pull them back up in CAS later.

Thanks Ricalynn. So saving them at the mirror into the sim bin returns them to the start of whatever lifestage they are at as a vanilla sim?

Saving them puts them in the bin.  My experience most Sims never come out of CAS on the same date.   Artie likes to come out anywhere between 21 days and 16 days to go until Adulthood.

Sorry Ricalynn, I should have thought more when asking that question.

I have noticed the same thing with the ages myself.

I was really meaning more with skills, employment and inventory, that they'd start off with no skills, employment history and the only inventory they'd have would be that of a starting sim if they were saved using a mirror.

Sim Bin = mirror or CAS where you save the individual Sim

Library or Household Bin = the one in Edit town that can save skills and requires Edit Town to save.  This way can save household & house.

I've only ever used the Sim Bin, as far as I know. I didn't even know the other type existed.

I'll just continue to re-create the sims as best as I can through Create A Sim so I make sure I don't do anything wrong.

Thanks for your help Ricalynn, I'm really not trying to be difficult, I'm just trying to understand.

Any skill that does not come from an expansion pack will never count as a viable skill for any challenge.

So do you mean Archery? That's the only example I can think of right now, but I assume you're being more general in case more come in the future.

Archery, Gambling and yeah in case there are more.  If Violin is it's own skill that would not be counted either.
