Yeah, building a life for them isn't as much fun if you can't destroy it straight afterwards. :D

I wish I could bring myself to do that in a game, but I feel too guilty just in deleting the game.  I seem to micro-manage them, giving them as many wishes as I can yet stay with the goal that I set out for the family.  It is realy hard to delete a family, especially when my family has grown to the level of six members and starting on the second generation.

The way I play is kind of spontaeneous. It's basically in this order: idea for household, create and make story, play until I get tired of them, start something else.
The outside is quiet, but the inside is on full blast.

I like to make my own sims, and I like the challenge of starting with very little money.  Although a comfortable house is lovely, the temptation is to make a big mansion that I think wastes time with the moving around it.

I don't like death or moving out of town.  I usually play with ageing off or on epic, occasionally using a cake to age up children, and story progression off, though I would like other sims to move on in their careers and have children.  It's upsetting to have sims my family has taken a long time to befriend leaving the town or dying.
Trying an immortal dynasty is therefore quite different to my normal style.

What I really like is to play various families around town.  It feels more like a community, and if I get bored with a family I don't have to say goodbye to them altogether.  I'm not keen on the sims3 set-up, as all the wishes get lost when changing households, so I preferred the first two Sims versions as I could play a different family in the town every day, without my previous families losing wishes, moving out, dying, etc.
I like how when you create a new family they are automatically saved to the bin.  I have some favourite families that I place in different towns.

The annoying things are the bugs.  Some favourite families have got messed up when returning from holiday.  I like the exploring foreign lands, and I wish I could go away without the bugs.  After a week abroad exploring, collecting, befriending and developing skills, I am loath to revert to a pre-holiday save.

I usually start a new town whenever I get an expansion pack. Like right now I am playing as a fairy living with a witch and her two fairy children. It is mostly experimenting. She has been with a werewolf, another fairy, and a normal human. I've kept aging and story progression off, because I am going to play a different family once I get bored of the one I'm on. There is too much to do!
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.  :D

I usually select a pre-made single sim living in town, have them get married and play a multi-generational game until a new expansion comes out, life gets in the way or too many glitches. As mentioned above, I also try to fulfill the little wishes (as well as their lifetime wishes) that the Sims have and let them do (most of the time) what they want to do. I also renovate the town as the time goes on like adding a new park or building a new salon or building a new coffeehouse every once in a while to also experience the building aspect of the game and to give me something else to do. I usually have 2 or 3 games going in separate neighborhoods to bring some variety to my play style. All of the expansion packs also bring a good amount of variety to what my sims do as well (it doesn't get as boring and repetitive as it did in the early days).

When an expansion pack comes out I'll oftentimes start a new game, create a sim and play through some of the new content just to experience what comes with the expansion pack more fully, though those games only last one or two generations.

I seem to like building and upgrading houses more than playing with the actual sims! Whenever I hit a point in my game where I have to do some remodeling (new baby, pet, friend/spouse moves in, etc), I get excited.

When a new expansion comes out, I usually play with the new town for a day or so, then delete it.

I like to create two young adults, have them marry and reproduce, have the husband cheat on the wife, have a child with another woman, divorce and kick out my wife, steal all her furniture from her new house and then on the side of all that, I try to max out skills and reach level 10 in my career. And, obviously, I try to accomplish my lifetime wish... on the way I make enemies and using the Weapon System mod, I kill off whoever I don't like. I also like observing how the other families in the town have progressed, thanks to story progression... once Cornelia Goth divorced Gunther and became the girlfriend of Leighton Sekemoto. Ahh.. fun :)

The only time I've ever intentionally killed a sim was when the age freeze potion apparently glitched and I couldn't age them with the cake or the cheat. So I used CAS to age them to elder and dropped their hunger meters to zero.

Besides that, I can't bring myself to kill my sims. I have to bereally tired of a sim to want to intentionally kill them.

I traditional make one adult and play them until they get their LTW and are married with a few kids... then wander off in boredom and do it again.  I also spend a lot of time building, rather than playing.

Am just getting into multi-generational play.

This is pretty much me in a nutshell, as well - apart from the building.  I tend to get bored with families once there's nothing exciting to do anymore.  I am attempting an Immortal Legacy now, though, and it is really great.  I can't share my story because I've cheated all the way through it, but one day I will do it properly.

I also tend to pick a specific career and tailor the Sim's life to it - like making a big, colourful house for day care, and a busted-up junkyard house for inventors.  That's pretty interesting for a while.  Or I pick a certain type of Sim (celebrity, studious, evil) and play with that.

What's the weapons system mod?  It sounds like your downtown must be pretty rough!  Are there drive-by shootings, drug pushers and gang warfare as well?   :P

The new attraction system has added some flavor. Everyoe in town is hooking up and then breaking up. My attractive sim, gets more than 10 letters a day and can live off her "presents". She meets them, says goodbye and they still call. Very funny!

I recommend you to reread the forum rules. This is a family friendly forum. Talk about weapons is not allowed here.
