Al Fresco Street Market Venue
« on: December 06, 2012, 02:56:13 PM »
There is a new release, the Al Fresco Street Market (normal price 1900 simspoints, currently 1700 until Jan 1, 2013).

I pretty much figure done to coincide with the Monte Viste world release.  ;)

There are two item:

Fruit and Veggie Stand:
Make more money with your harvestables.

Lemonade Stand:
Another item for budding child entrepreneurs.
And this description in the Sims 3 store definitely had me giggling:
Quote
•Get some life advice by Getting Psychiatric Help from a Child Tending the Lemonade Stand. They can offer you insights that will no doubt leave you feeling better about things!

And for those who like such things, two new harvestable items.  Lemon Trees and Eggplant Bushes.
It is available here:

I just brought this venue, however I can't seem to find those really pretty tree lights called 'Twinkling Tree Column'. Does anyone know where to find it in game?
From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot. I've been accused of being Alice, and of not being Alice, but this is my dream. I'll decide where it goes from here.

I don't have it but to me the name suggests that it is a Build column.  Have you tried looking there?

The new produce stand acts as a consignment register, and French grapes can pop up in the inventory. I found Meloire, Cherimola Blan and Cranerlet Nuala grapes there, along with the new lemons and purple eggplant.

Edited to add: Also, plums, cherries, and pomegranates. Life fruit, flame fruit, and plasma fruit have also popped up. Make sure to check every stand; there are five on the lot, and each one has its own inventory.

Does anyone else get the "Got Ripped Off!" moodlet more often than not when buying from the produce stand? I hope it's not a mod causing this...

It sounds like it acts something like the consignment shop.  Maybe they just cost more than they should, just a thought.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

The moodlet is possibly because you're paying for 'Excellent' quality items. Very handy!

I haven't seen all the mushrooms show up yet, but just about everything else. And the lemons can be used in nectar.
[they/them pronouns please]

It is indeed in the build column.

On another note, EA just released a store content patch which fixed some issues the Fruit And Veggie Stand caused with some recipes.

Do you need to have WA installed for the pomegranates, grapes etc. to show up?

That would be my guess. I have all expansions installed, however, so I'd need to do some finagling to check for certain.

I don't know the meaning of "finagling"  ::) But maybe someone who is playing without WA has the answer?

Sorry, I meant that I'd need to fiddle around with my Any Game Starter program to set up a copy of the game that didn't have WA installed. Finally got it working and checked, seems that you can only buy produce that will normally appear in your game, so you must still have the relevant expansions installed to get any expansion-specific produce.

Lasnien, thank you so much for checking that out! I had uninstalled WA because of the traveling bug, but really love thedifferent fruits so I will install it again and hope the game will work okay this time. Thanks again!

Personally, I found it to be a waste of money. Sorry to see I was roped in to their advertisement! But, at least I got the lemonade stand and lemons. They make you pay a lot for 1 or 2 items you are interested in.
