Will they eat fruit if you leave it on the ground, or does it have to be "serving" plates of cooked food?

They will definitely eat fruit that's left on the ground. I recommend High Quality Dried Food from the WA locations. Just toss it on the ground before you begin a tip playing session. It's hilarious. And just looks...wrong.

But when your sim stops to eat, don't they go away?

It's for the customers. You feed your Sim before they go out to play for tips. If they have Hardly Hungry, they most definitely can go without food for 12-16 hours.

I am sorry Pam, I guess I need to re-read the previous page.  I didn't mean to duplicate the post. At least great minds think alike.  ;D

Oh jeez, you thought I didn't understand that.  :-[ But I agree, the Hardly Hungry LTR would be a huge boost.

I had to laugh, I found this little video that I had made in June of last year.  I didn't even know that I had hit the record button.  I found it this morning and added audio to it and thought I would share.  I thought it was cute, short, but cute.  I would like to learn how to do movies and such.

After I found that one, I found this one too.  Good grief, no telling what you will find when you dig deep enough.  LOL

The video was cute, but it surprised me. I don't remember ever hearing my rockstar singing while playing.

It was audio you get to choose from when you make a video.  There are tons to choose from, this one actually sounded as if he was singing.

Salty, if you like to create movies and want to learn more, I remember I've made a topic out of filming in TS3. You may want to check it out.
Unfortunately I haven't found it back on the forum, but that could be me. I failed finding a few more things back here after my vacation.

I am starting to think about the recording part.  I think it is pretty neat and have seen some very well made ones on youtube.  You right, I would like to find out more about it.

Well, there is a file in your ea games folder for example that can be modded. This is considered as legal and it will make your camera movement slower or faster. That can be really practical in some situations.
I've tested some things with timelapses, but unfortunately my editing program (Pinnacle) didn't work out well. Comp is back from the repair shop, so I could test it out again.

Yes, the sims3 site is where I added the audio to those small clips.  That site is a good place to upload your videos from the game and cut and edit.  It is a pretty neat how you can do all of that from there.

True, but it is a very hard way of getting a lot of views when that is your ambitions. In that case I recommend Youtube, with the right video title and searching terms included.
The rockstar sims are making good moves which you can make good use of while editing your videos. May I see a link to your new work when you've uploaded some?

Certainly, but right now, I am trying to finish these challenges, but I did start something, but it got lost somewhere.  I could use some help, so I will be sure and share it with you.
