Requesting - a bored world-builder...
« on: November 27, 2012, 10:49:07 PM »
For a while now I had been imagining creating a world. But of course I own a mac. So, being the eager builder I am I went out and bought windows 7 intending to use it with bootcamp. Of course after finally installing windows 7, I realised that the game versions I had bought off amazon digital download are mac only... I am beginning to wonder if all this hassle is worth it (yay for EA only releasing things on windows... ::cough:: The Sims, Mass Effect ::cough::). So anyway, instead of building the world myself, I thought I might suade a bored world builder out there to work with me in creating a world that I could then fill in with buildings. Nothing fancy, just something unique so I can utilise a land that is not already out there. And of course, I will credit you most thankfully when I finish the world :) Anyway, message me or leave a comment if you are interested or have any questions or would like to see some samples of my work. Cheers!

You know if you register the games with TheSims3.com that on the windows side you can download origin which can download your Sims games.  Plus coming in February there will be an origin for Mac too.

Hm I am a bit lost, sorry. Ok so I bought the games on amazon digital download, on there they are mac only. So how do I register them on sims3.com now. I did create an account for sims3.com but it doesn't show my games or anything. Also origin, is that what you can use to download the CAW tool. Or is that something else lol. Thanks!

I have a mac & a pc.  I bought games through GameTree Mac(love them) and then I have an account on thesims3.com.   My games are registered on TheSims3.com and have been since the beginning.   When I got my new PC, I downloaded the EA origin client from origin.com.  This is EA's version of steam where they hold all your game info.  Because I had registered the products, EA also registered the items in origin under my Thesims3.com login information.   After you download origin, login like you would for thesims3.com and you will find every game that you've ever registered now available for download on the PC side of your computer.

CAW is downloaded from thesims3.com site as it's a Sims 3 tool.  Origin is from EA who makes Sims 3.  You need to have Sims installed to use CAW and I was saying that you could install Sims using origin so that you could actually use CAW yourself.

Thank you so much! This is so exciting. Ok so I downloaded Origin. So now I go back onto the mac side and register I imagine. And... sorry for the noob question but how do I register lol. I looked at the game client and the sims3.com website but I do not see it, or I am utterly missing it. Thanks again so much!

Sorry one more question <.< I am guessing that in order to get the full range of features of CAW you need to install the base game and all the expansions correct. I think I read somewhere that for instance bridges required late night. The reason I ask is to make certain I allocate enough disk space for the windows side. Thanks!

Nore on the sims 3 site scroll down and there will be a link to register a game, above register a code. You must be signed in and the header is my account. If this isn't clear enough I apologise. :s

Thank you so much Andy! And Ricalynn of course! I registered my games and downloaded Origin and installed them. However, now when I try to install the CAW tool it is telling me it cannot install this kind of file. Does anyone know if CAW works with bootcamp. I tried with Parallels but it is not working there either. Either way thank you so much for letting me know about registering the serials :) Also sorry this turned into more of a tech support thread, should I request it be moved to a different forum or something...
