Maybe you could go into " Options " and unclick all the weather you don't want. It might help with this situation.  :)

Welcome home Loutens!

Every day will feel like X-mas in this 2 story Victorian inspired home. The house is decked in red, green and white and surrounded by pine trees. The seasonal decorations on the front lawn will make your new home the pride of the neighborhood.

The easy access basement holds a 2 car garage with plenty of room to add a washer and dryer or room to use for storage.

The ground floor has 2 entrances, one to the main house and one to Albert's in-law suite. The in-law suit includes a bathroom, a bedroom and a living room, it also has a door directly to the dining/reception area of the main house. This allows for greater privacy as the doors can be looked against those pesky grandchildren or guests whenever Albert needs time for himself.

On the main floor you have the kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining/reception room for entertaining guests and and special celebrations (since it has a buffet table and a bar), a bathroom, and a family room. There are two fireplaces, and plenty of fire alarms. There is also a back porch that can be reached through 3 separate doors.

The upper floor has a master bedroom with en suit, a nursery, a girls bedroom, a teenage boys room, a den for watching TV and a balcony for watching the stars. There is also a powder room and a shower room.

In the attic there are lots of storage space and a work out area.

The large backyard has a fire pit and picknick table, a butterfly meadow, a fenced play area and a fenced in garden. There is also a pond and a place for private contemplation.

The house can be downloaded here.

Maywood Lodge
By Decima

Price furnished: 89,952  when placed on 17 Maywood Lane
Bedrooms: 4, plus a nursery
Bathroooms: 3
Content used: Base game only, with all new patches
Free store content used:
Christmas items from all sets listed here
Clark's pack of ghosts found here
Cornocopia lights found here
Plants found here

Maywood Lodge will be the Loutens' family new home, just in time for christmas! It's a large family residence comprising of 4 bedrooms, (2 large doubles and 2 singles). Each is decorated to suit it's intended Sim(s), complete with stockings on the wall. There's a separate nursery adjoining the master bedroom for those exhausting night time feeds, and a large family bathroom. Downstairs there's two huge family rooms, each with a fireplace, and another bathroom in the theme of a 'winter wonderland'.

Apart from putting up the christmas tree and other decorations, the Loutens have been busy digging out their very own Santa's underground grotto, to serve as a play space for the kids to keep them away from grumpy Albert, and as storage for all the decorations come the new year. There's even room for a gym and adjoining bathroom!

Green thumb and athletic Andy has visited Lunar Lakes, and brought back some of it's rock by the cartload to spread all around the lodge. He's also created his very own garden christmas tree out back, using hedges, rose bushes and other flowers, come night time it lights up and looks magical. He's also made his plant beds into the shape of presents to go around the tree garden! He deserves a sit down by the fire with a juice made from his very own juice bar, I think!  I hope natural cook Claire is feeling up to cooking the christmas feast, if not the smoke detector may come in handy if Andy or Albert try their hand at cooking!

The Lodge truly looks like a festive winter wonderland, a great place for the Loutens to enjoy christmas with their expanding family.

Louten Family Home

Lot type: Residential Lot.
Lot size: 30 x 40.
Suggested placement: 17 Maywood Lane, Sunset Valley.
Price: $86,938.

Contains: Base Game Content and Free Store Content only. Earth Day Set, Holiday Sets.

Dear family,

First of all, merry christmas to everyone! I hope your year was filled with joy. It's been a very busy year at the Louten household. As you all know, we made the big decision to move out of the city and put down roots in a smaller community. We chose to build our new home in a pretty seaside town called Sunset Valley. When we visited last year, we knew it would be the perfect place to live. All of the neighbours are so festive, and they share our love for the holidays. Dad decided he would move with us, so we had a suite built for him above the garage. As Jake's going to be moving out in a few years we decided that two bedrooms would be enough for us. On that note, I should make an announcement to all of you. I'm pregnant! He or she will be able to share rooms with Zoe once they become old enough. In the meantime they'll just stay in our room. I can't wait to see you guys in the new year. From all of us in the Louten family, we wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year! Oh, I also sent some pictures of the new house!

Sincerely,

Claire Louten.

This is the front of the property. Of course Andy was inclined to want an aqua blue for the exterior, and we thought it would look perfect! As you would expect from us, we began decorating for christmas in the summer!

Here's a picture of my dream kitchen! It'll be perfect for whipping up christmas dinner!

This is the rest of the main floor. We decided that an open concept floor plan would work best for big family get togethers. It's very airy and light, and is furnished with our family's favourite colours.

The living room is going to be so warm and cheery on christmas morning! The fireplace will be perfect for santa!

Our master bedroom is the perfect retreat, for when we just need a break from the world. Our favourite colours extend to the upstairs, as well.

This is the office space. Jake spends a little too much time on the computer, if you ask me. That's what you get when you have a computer whiz for a son!

Here's the kid's bedroom. It's a very bright, pretty room, and serves it's purpose well.

The bathroom is spacious, and gives the feeling of a spa. It works well for getting ready in the morning.

This is dad's suite. He really enjoys spending most of his time alone up there. It's free of technology, which suits him fine, and is decorated with his favourite red.

We've already started putting out christmas lights! We'll wait for a little longer to put the lights along the roof. Once christmas is over, the garage will be perfect for storing all of our decorations!

There's also a garden out back for Andy, but it's not in any of our pictures! Next year we'll send some more pictures once we've settled in. Once again, everyone have a merry christmas and a happy new year! :)

Louten Lodge

Lot size 30x40
6 bed spaces (2 double, 2 single) plus cot

Price: §89994 when placed on 17 Maywood Lane, Sunset Valley
Content used: Base game plus free store content from these sets:

Claire and Andy have designed a comfortable home for their growing family, with a self-contained ‘grannexe’ for Albert.

The house features light wood floors and large windows throughout, giving a bright and airy feel.

On the ground floor, there is an open-plan family room/kitchen/dining room and a large family bathroom.  This floor is decorated in neutral tones, so that it can be dressed up with different colour schemes for different seasonal celebrations.

To the other side of the hallway and well away from the noisy children is Albert’s flat, with a sitting room, kitchenette, bedroom and cloakroom.  Albert has decorated his space with leftover wallpaper from his old house (waste not, want not) and has furnished it with treasured possessions.  He finds it appallingly wasteful that his daughter and son-in-law spend good money on decorations that are only used for a few weeks each year, so he has appropriated some out-of-season décor – there’s no sense in spending money on electricity when there are unused candles lying around.

Upstairs, there is a master bedroom with en-suite shower room and bedrooms for the two children, plus a nursery for the forthcoming addition to the family.  All the bedrooms are decorated in favourite colours, while the landing, a light and open space with room for work or hobbies, continues the neutral theme from downstairs.

In the basement are a carport with parking spaces for two cars, a gym and a large storage space for all those decorations.

Behind the house is a small but productive kitchen garden, with plenty of room left for children to run around in.

Evergreen House

Lot size: 30x40
Bed spaces: 8 (4 single beds, 2 double beds) plus cot
Price: 85,687 when placed on 17 Maywood Lane, Sunset Valley (48,445 unfurnished)
Content: Base game, pretty much every free holiday-themed set from the store ( Eye of the Bolder ’10, Happy St Patrick’s Day, Halloween Treats, More Halloween Treats, Happy Halloween: Gory Goodies, Fall Fruition, Harvest Bounty, Tis the Season for Gift Giving, Happy Holiday Presents, More Holiday Presents)

From the road, the Louten house fits in with its neighbours.

Downstairs houses a bathroom and great room including a large kitchen for Claire, a dining area and a family area, currently decorated for Christmas. Out of season, it’s just the right size for gnubb or foosball.

Behind the stairs is Albert’s room, (almost) guaranteed to be free of pesky kids and technology. It has its own bathroom, so that children can’t mess up the floor by splashing in his bath, and is in easy reach of midnight snacks when the kids are (supposed to be) in bed.

Upstairs are bedrooms for Zoe, Jake and their parents, with extra space for their expanding family.

Jake’s room has a spare bed for friends or future brothers, a chair and bookshelf, stereo, and a desk and computer.

Zoe also has a spare bed and books, along with a toy oven and a ball. Her room is pink and girly enough to repel brothers, while remaining sporty and practical.

Claire and Andy have a pink and blue room, with a cot for the new baby. They have an en suite and a private balcony with views over Sunset Valley.

At the top of the house is an attic room, which currently houses out-of-season decorations (just right for blending in with the neighbours later in the year), toddler things, a late goldfish’s bowl, and a rug for when the snowflake one downstairs starts to look too wintery.

Not mid day, but midnight or rather 11.59pm local time. So it depends on member's time zone as to when the contest ends.

Argh, hit the wrong button lol . What I was saying was that I still have to look over the last entries plus I have a small panel of judges helping me. I should be able to announce the results shortly after the member voting has finished.
I will give a breakdown of bonus points gained and/or points lost for entrants who want to know, so please reply and let me know if you are happy to know about your points.
