The zombies are destroying my plants!

I hope someone can help me here. I am facing an irritating problem. I planted a couple of money trees but I found out that the zombies are always destroying them!

As a result, I have to pay huge bills! How do I prevent this from happening? Please help! Thanks!

Install a fence and lock the gate so only your household/your gardener can use it. That'll keep the zombies out.

I fence my gardens off to keep them out. Also, the mood lamp seems to attract zombies, so I have one a little bit away from my garden, but close enough that they can see it. When they start spawning, I turn it on and they seem to just gravitate toward it.

Just click on the gate, and a "Lock..." option should come up. Click on that, then you have several options to choose from. I usually pick "lock to everybody but my household" or "lock to everyone but myself". The former will let all your family members in and out of the garden at will, while the latter will only let your currently active sim (the one you have selected when you click on the gate) use it.
