Self Employed Teenager?
« on: June 23, 2010, 06:11:21 PM »
My little Sim became a teenager today (I'm so proud!  :D).  Since she has the lifetime wish of being a master of the arts (writing and painting) and her writing skill is higher than her painting skill, I sent her to city hall to register as a self-employed writer.  However, when I check her career tab, she shows up as a high school student.

This is something new for me.  Has anyone else registered a teen as self-employed?  I really am curious to know if she will get credit in her career for the books she writes, since she is officially registered as a writer but showing up as a student.

If you click on the career tab, you will notice down the left side of the career tab, there are two options: one for schooling, one for work.

If you click on the work one (it's the usual man behind a desk) then it should come up as self-employed writer.

Congrats on getting your sim to teen stage, my twins just turned toddler. nightmares...

I know how you feel. In my legacy, I had two sims that were toddlers, one about 5 days older than the other. In those several days of them both being a toddler, it was crazy! The fact that they both had different schedules for sleeping (one was a few hours ahead of the other) and only one being potty-trained, I wasn't sure I could take it all!.

Try the baby boomer challenge if you really want it tough (it's over now, but next time). 6 toddlers and no nanny was near impossible.

My teenager is a self-employed writer! She's going to turn into a young adult in 9 days (Sim time)  :o Looks like I'm going to have to find her a husband! This is going to be fun!

Thanks to AndySimmer - It has been so long since I allowed one of my teenagers to have a job outside of school that I had totally forgotten about it.  I checked and voila! there it was.

Since we seem to be sharing horror stories of Sim parenthood (I hope we are not off topic...), my last legacy family had a set of toddler twins and a set of infant triplets at the same time :o.  Five cribs in the same room and the infants aged up before the toddlers were children.  Birthday cake anyone?  Even with four adults in the house (two parents, two grandparents) I could barely get everyone potty trained, talking and walking.  Thank God for toddler books!

True, it's been pulled off topic, but we need to pull it back.  There are other topics to share Sims 3 parent horror stories.  :)

Sorry, Pam.

My little girl is now a level 2 Writer on the honor roll.  Time to make her little sister a self-employed gardener.
