School Snow Days and Grades
« on: November 23, 2012, 02:02:10 PM »
The child-age twins in the family had two snow days in a row. This caused that they never got their grades past a B, so when they aged up to teens their "indifirent study habits" meant that they cold not choose the trait gained. That was fine with me because I like random traits, but beware those snow days if you are planning the perfect sim.

What age span are you playing?  How many days do you have from child to teen?

If you have a sim with level 5 or higher logic in the home, you can tutor the kids to get their grades up on snow days.

I'm playing normal life span. Child stage was seven days.

Thanks Cheezey, I had not thought about that.

If your Sim is a child during winter, I suggest using the Study Hard tone while the child is at school.  It will cause the child some additional stress, but the grades might come up enough to have an A.

I posted this in the Life States Dynasty tip thread, but I'll repost here:

Just because you get the announcement it's a Snow Day, try to send the kid to school anyway. My kids' week went something like this:
Monday - School Day
Tuesday - Snow Day (when I tried to send them manually, it just said "School Not In Session")
Wednesday - School Day
Thursday - Snowflake Day ("School Not In Session")
Friday - Snow Day (this one let me send them to school anyway, though)

The kids' hopped on their bikes in the blizzard and went to school, and even if it says Snow Day! on the tab instead of Learning! they're still learning.

One of my teens got on the honor roll on snow day so if you have an A already it still counts snow day in the three straight days which is good to know, they've had 3 days off in a row so far during winter, snow day, snowflake day then another snow day.

The first snow day she tried to go to school and I cancelled it, a short while later I got a message saying she had missed school on a field trip day, guess that's why she tried to go, I'd forgotten about it.
