Gardening Planters
« on: November 20, 2012, 12:29:03 AM »
Okay, so thanks to the new Stone's Throw Greenhouse you can have indoor planters, which would be great for winter except even indoor plants go dormant.  Does anyone know if the supernatural planters (I'm pretty sure I remember seeing them) work to keep the plants from going dormant inside?  I have the game, but it was way more complications than I wanted.  Will consider installing it if the planters work (I can always turn off the supernaturals - thank you sims makers).

It works for me, mostly. The first two indoor plants I planted in fall were dormant at first but later started working. It's just that some of my plants seem to get stuck at the harvest stage but can't actually be harvested, whether they're inside or outside. Plant something indoors and give it a few days to see how it works out?

it doesn't really matter if it dormant though. Just use the PvZ sunshine to mass-fertilize

Also note that using the new roof (decoration) doesn't equal to real roof, the game would still consider the room to be roof-less. you need to put some real flat roof on it.

The indoor planters from Supernatural did work for me, I planted mine before winter set in though so not sure if that makes a difference.

SimsGuruCopeland posted a guide to Winterizing the Stones Throw Greenhouse **Updated 11/16** - http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/611517.page - not sure if this helps!

I haven't tried letting it sit around.  Thank you for the advice.  As for the actual greenhouse, yes, I'm aware of the roof decor problem.  Apparently the store people are working on it, and they had advice for winterizing it.

ps: So I was patient with the planters and yes they do work indoors to raise plants.  Though obviously no trees.

My indoor plants work fine through the winter as well. I've been growing pumpkins all year round. Wish I could do that in real life!
