Occupied "Unoccupied" Houses in Twinbrook
« on: June 22, 2010, 10:36:27 PM »
I followed a simbot I released into Twinbrook, and the car dropped him off at a really nice house. He walked back to the 3-car garage and disappeared. I thought it was strange that the house didn't show the filled-in house icon with his name, but decided to look back the next day.

I noticed that the house across the street from there had smoke coming out the chimney, but showed the "unoccupied" icon. I also noticed two cars in that house's carport.

Has anyone noticed occupied "unoccupied" houses in Ambitions, or in Twinbrook in particular?

Yes, I've seen that.  Cars are often left at houses when the occupants move out.  And if they left the fire burning, there would be smoke from the chimney.  Also, some houses just come with cars as part of the lot, so you'd see those, too.

If your Simbot's name doesn't show up at the house he went to, he probably moved out of town.  I've seen that happen many times.  If they go to a lot, but don't go in the front door, they seem to just disappear and that's when they live out of town (as far as I can tell).  You can try inviting him to visit and ask him to leave, then follow him to see where he goes (use the pause button to keep up).

He never got named. What a waste of materials and time. In the future I will adopt a simbot and then move it out -- or I guess I'd run the same risk of him leaving town in that case too. :le sigh:

Thanks for clearing that up.
