Comparing the Default Festival Lots
« on: November 19, 2012, 09:34:33 AM »
So far I've played in Starlight Shores and Riverview with Seasons, and I've gotta say Starlight has the better festival lot.  Riverview has no photobooth in the Cannery and now that I'm in winter, no halfpipe!  How are the other towns?

You could always edit the lot and add in the things that are missing.

So far I've only played Moonlight Falls in Summer and Fall, but I'm loving it :3 Not sure I'd want to deal with the lag in Bridgeport, though it does look gorgeous in winter from what I've seen. All the Simblrs I follow tend to be using/loving Riverview though.

I'm playing a Legacy so I can't cheat and add stuff.  I ended up buying Verde park and upgrading it with a soccer goal, a photo booth, and a halfpipe.  Problem solved :)

Moonlight Falls looks good -- the pre-Seasons park lot was very empty and boring, but the festivals fill it up nicely. One amusing issue I found was with the broom riding arena. Summer places it in the upper right corner, fall in the upper left When I clicked on my broom during fall and selected a joyride, the Sim would ride around in the now-empty corner instead of the arena's new location.

Appaloosa Plains is a letdown because, due to a lack of a proper big park in that town, it instead replaces an empty 50x50 residential lot, one of the better ones in town. Compared to the rest, it does look like a half-baked job especially when there's no festival going on.

Since I'm playing a dynasty in Moonlight Falls, I use the Starlight Shores festival park. It does double duty by being the live performance park and festival park.
I haven't played any of the other worlds since I installed seasons. May have to take a break and see what SSV and RV look like.  ;)

Twinbrook's festival lot gets the job done and is in a nice place, but I miss the unaltered Twinbrook Town Center now. D:

You can place the unaltered town center somewhere else.

Is the halfpipe working for others in Moonlight Falls? It's not showing up for me. Having checked the festival lot in Edit Game again just now, I noticed that several other things don't show up either, such as the hot tub, or the rocking chairs and carpets during fall. I bulldozed the lot and replaced it with a new copy, which helped. Gonna keep an eye out to see if it happens again.

I'm playing my homeless legacy in Barnacle Bay and their summer festival ground is pretty nice with the possible exception of the tanning booth being right outside the bathroom :P
