Game Crashing Since Installing Seasons

What I mean was, if you opened the most recent .txt file, you should find a section titled [Exception Info]. Copy and paste that here.

My game has also been crashing since seasons. Cleaning up dcbackup, etc., doesn't help. I'll update my mods and see if that fixes it...

yeah, it is really frustrating.  I just did the reset, took out anything that didn't come from the store or the game (I didn't have true cc but I had a couple of things I'd downloaded from here), and I also took out all my mods and it is still crashing...in fact just crashed exactly where it did before--at the snowcone machine during the summer festival.

Same code as before.  And now I STILL haven't been able to see another season other summer, so I'm starting to wonder why I even bought this EP, especially because now,  SN crashes too. 

And I would add that I can't even play a totally new game in Seasons.  Nothing.    I'm really upset, because I can't play anything at all.

Did you try the complete re-install that you mentioned?

I just got finished doing the complete reinstall, but I was honestly so demoralized by not being able to play anything at all, that I decided to only install up to SN for now.  If that works, then I'll try Seasons again in the next couple of days. 

  I'm worried that may save files may not be good either, so I'm even going to start with a totally new game in Moonlight Falls.  I'll report back...hopefully with some good news, in that I'll at least be able to play SN again.

And....it still doesn't work.  I'm running no mods, no Seasons, totally reinstalled the game, and was running a totally new game and SN still crashed after about 20 minutes.   

I'm really devastated....both at the thought that I have basically "lost" all my Sims, because I don't think any of my saves are playable, and also, the games themselves don't seem playable at all.     If anyone has any suggestions, I would like to hear them.

(I was trying to put in my saved families into a new town...but surely not all my families files are corrupt too?  How could that be?)

I'm about to try mine with updated mods - will let you know how it goes.

For now, I would say that I have gone through a very similar experience to what it sounds like you're going through, and in the end the thing I was doing wrong was getting out the game (to waste time on the internet) while it loaded - since I stopped doing that, it's been fine (until now of course).

pally, shiba and Corey, I'd suggest downloading this, loading the most recent xcpt file into it, and running the analyzer. It should tell you what the error is caused by.

I've run across that before and would love to use it, but it says it is not for Mac OS.    Is there something similar for Mac?

And yeah, I've never been able to get out of my game to do something else (like go online)....just don't have the power to run the game and anything else.

Update on my situation:  so far, nothing is better.

I did a complete reinstall, but did not install Seasons, because right now, I'd be happy just to get SN and Pets to play again.  I used a new game, but I did put my old families back in there.   It crashed as soon as I moved out of edit town mode into play mode (my game mostly crashes in play mode).  I was too tired and upset to try anything else last night (I've been trying to get my game to run for about 2 days now).  I figure my save files are probably hopelessly corrupt now by whatever the problem is, but I am not ready to give up my sims yet!

It did occur to me though, that perhaps something is wrong with one of the sims.  I made one family in Seasons before it crashed.  I was placing this family into my brand new town when the game crashed.  I don't even know if a sim family can be corrupt, but I certainly hope this is the case, because I would be willing to give that one up if it would get the game to run.

And I should stress again I am no longer even trying to run Seasons--I'm just trying to get my old EPs to play. 

So tonight, I'm going to see if I can run SN with the town with my sims in it (without the "Seasons" family).  If I can eventually get SN to run again, then I may try adding Seasons again, or I may trying uninstalling SN and just running Seasons and Pets and seeing if that works.

But please, if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.  Is it even possible that a family file is corrupt so putting my old Sims in a town will make the game crash? 

 I'm really frustrated!

I wasn't able to read anything from the files.  shibamistress and Corey, would you mind attaching them here? If you want to blank out anything, I think you should be able to under [System info] - that means go ahead and blank Computer Name, Computer DNS Name and User name if you wish. It shouldn't matter.
