Seasons Deaths
« on: November 16, 2012, 04:04:07 PM »
I think a new death type that comes with this expansion is death by lightning strike. Is this only with an umbrella or can it be at any time?

Edit: Another type of death is death by freezing. Ouch!

It looks like it's only while standing outside and holding an umbrella.

Death by a lightning strike is qualified as death by electrocution so the only new ghost is death by frozen.
Plus, it's more likely to happen if it's raining - getting hit by a lightning strike.

Ugh, my Sim decided to splash in a puddle while it was a storming like crazy outside (thunder/lightening the whole works). I was doing something else with her daughter, and when I checked on her, she was splashing away holding her umbrella. Needless to say, I made her go back into the house before her kids end up motherless and me without a recent save.  LOL

Okay...so now I need to fence a sim into a puddled area and make sure the sim has an umbrella. Do you have to do anything special to freeze a sim...or can you just leave them ouside in the snow until they turn into a popsicle?

Make sure they're in something like their swimwear and it's cold

Yes, I noticed my outdoor living sim just auto changed into her outerwear...so how do we prevent that?

Have them go swimming or play in the sprinklers or see if you can manually change her outfit to swim wear.

I change the title to 'Seasons Deaths' because people have been talking about the other new seasons death.

Random question: Are Children, toddlers, and babies affected by the freezing or lightning? I haven't bought the game yet but I am curious as to whether or not children can be killed by these things. Sometimes you can't be too careful!

I would assume so at least for the freezing, considering that to freeze all you need to do is make a sim wander around outside in an outfit not their outerwear in the winter.

I don't think babies or toddlers are affected  by weather. Not sure about kids though.

Well babies are in that magical cloth that keeps them at the proper temperature at any time, I have no clue about toddlers and freezing, and I was assuming about the child life stage.

If you set a baby (not toddler) down in the snow, it gets that urgent jagged edge pink speech bubble with a cold temperature icon in it.  My sim tried to set his infant down at the winter festival in the park in deep snow.  It was deeper than the baby.  Parent of the year, that one.

Woah, I'm not going to try that! Anyway, toddlers aren't affected by rain (they don't get the 'soaked' moodlet)
