City Hall "Party" Problem

I have a problem with a LOT of sims gathering around city hall. Since my profession is P.I., I have to talk to a lot of sims, which are always most likely at city hall, and I can't talk to them because I can't get to them. It's because my mom (I have a legacy family) was a Dictator of Design (level 10 of Architect career) and they were cheering her or something. I thought this was cool and normal, until it never went away. They just stay there, and I have seen some people die there, but they just won't go away. Anyone else having this problem and/or know how to fix it?

Have you tried exiting the game and restarting?  That would be my first suggestion.

My sister had the same problem with her game like that.  The people would gather and then never go away some eventually just died right there.  Eerie to say the least.  Ewww.

I tried restarting it, got a new case and went to interview the guy, and low and behold, they were still there... and the weird thing is, my mom had already left and they were still cheering her on.

You can try resetting each of the Sims who are there cheering.  Instructions to reset a Sim are found here.  Be sure to follow the instructions exactly because it's case sensitive and if you don't capitalize in the right spots, it won't work.

It has probably been added to the long and getting longer list of other bugs and glitches, lol.

According to sims 3 forum, many people had this problem.  Their fix was to replace city hall and everyone goes home.

OK I fixed it, but I had to testingcheatsenabled delete my mom but it was kinda funny, the ones that didn't die of starvation, all passed out from sleep deprivation right as a deleted her lol

This is weird, but I guess it's another bug that only affects some people. Yesterday when I was playing, my firefighter sim got the key to the city for reaching level 10 in his career, but as far as I know, everyone was able to go home. Now, most of them just stood there for a while, but everyone eventually made it.
