The greenhouse with the set is a community lot that you can put down elsewhere. So the only difference between theirs and yours is that yours is on a private lot.

Also, even with the planters, your plants shouldn't be going dormant while indoors - only when outdoors (or planted during a dormant season, I guess). So I guess make sure you're enclosing all your walls and putting a roof on it.

I, too, have had it since release, and the station/sunflowers is a plus to me (while carrying the sunshine in your inventory, it's a nice moodlet for most sims). Also, you can drag them to nooboo inventories for an additional mood boost to them.
Hi LivvieLove

I've had the Stones Throw Greenhouse since it was released, and I find it to be a quite a useful set. The fertilising station actually grows and produces faster (twice a day) and you can talk to and fertilise your plants all at once. There's also some nice CAS stuff, matching furniture and of course the build mode pieces. I'd buy it on sale if you can get it.

Hope this helps!

Thank you both so very much for your input. I ended up getting it on a super sale with that 50% off the Compliation of 2012 (Best of) along with several other awesome things and I love it! I'm so glad I invested in it and I'm glad I got it at such a steal too! (Thankfully I already had the voodoo-doll so it discounted me even further!) Thus far I'm really loving it, however I noticed that when I plant during the fall/winter/spring the plant shows up as dormant still. It still grows like normal, so it's really not that big of a deal to me, I just found it odd that they were still looking dormant. Here's to a great garden with awesome perks during ALL the seasons!

That's a well-known graphics bug.

Hello again everyone, I have a question for those who have this set via the Best of 2012 Compilation. Is the version of the Greenhouse venue installed through that compilation the original "broken" version of the Greenhouse or the later fixed version? I'd so much appreciate an answer to this, as this compilation would be a rather large download on my meager internet connection. Thank you for your time.

I got mine through the compilation, and it's going just fine. The weather is being kept out and everything. So, the Compilation would be with the "Fixed" greenhouse.

Thank you LivvieLove for the quick reply. I'm glad to hear that. I'll download this compilation as soon as my bandwidth frees up a bit. If only they had fixed all the spawners, too, but I guess we can't have everything.  ;) Happy Simming everyone and enjoy your greenhouses. I can't wait for those new indoor plantable areas we'll get with Into the Future- it'll go well with this greenhouse.

Why does everyone say this? The planters included with the green house (and I think one of the expansions) provide a non-cheating method to plant indoors. I'm not sure if you can use them for trees, but all other garden plants do. The only disadvantage is you cannot grow as many plants at once since you can't place them as tightly as you can outdoors and each planter only allows one plant. But there is no unfinished moodlet either as long as the room is finished.

Maybe in the future EA will release long and/or large planters.

Wish came true!

Hi everyone,  I built my first greenhouse a couple days ago and had many problems.  To the forum I come.  I know everyone has talked about the 'unfinished room' moodlet and I never found any posts on how to get rid of it.  The only way I've seen to get rid of it was to put down a finished flooring of some kind.  I wanted the dirt , not a floor.  As a result of coming here, I've now solved everything except for the moodlet

I've found a way around that negative moodlet it that is beneficial.  The unfinished room moodlet is worth -10, so I've put in a small radio or if you have house wiring that works too.  The music moodlet is +20 so they gain +10.  It's an easy and effective way to boost points instead of losing them.  They can also exercise in their garden out of the weather.  Just thought I'd pass this along.  The set is great.

Also I had the original venue and only just found out about the new fixed venue from this site.  A frustrating experience, but with the help of this forum and learning of the new venue all is now good.  Thanks everyone and EA for the new venue too.

Sometimes what I'll do is I'll put down a type of floor that's like carpet or so and color it to look like dirt, or if you want (and have Into the Future) you can throw down the free wood floors and then put the "green outside" rugs that are used to plant stuff in Into the Future, which is supposed to look like grass. :) It is a bummer we have to deal with the moodlet though :(

I used the Nature's Soil rugs that came with Into the Future when I built this little greenhouse, and it seems that they pretty much solves all the problems with indoor gardening that's been mentioned in this thread. With free wood tiles and the NS rugs on the ground:

1. You can plant the seeds directly in the greenhouse, no need to remove and put back a wall panel, or first plant them outside and then having to use Moveobjects on to move them inside.

2. Since you have wood floor under the NS rugs, your sims don't get the Unfinished room bad moodlet.

Here's a couple of screenshots of the greenhouse with NS rugs on the ground. It looks almost like real soil... :)

Does anyone know how to get rid of the little half triangle bit that hangs off the corner of the greenhouse when you make one? Like lets say you make a green house and you use an end piece. The end piece has two corners that are diagonal so you put a wall diagonally under it, but when you do this the flat roof piece that you have to put along the whole top of the green house before setting the roof pieces on top sticks out. I hope explained it well enough as I don't have any pictures to show.

Rather than the Flat Roof, use floor tiles to cover the roof.

If you're talking about a floor tile that sticks out triangularly, if you use Ctrl-F you can get diagonal flooring/roofing when using the flat roof. You can also remove the half triangle the same way you would normal flooring.
I'm not sure if I understood you correctly about the triangle thing, but, hopefully that helps. :/

I realize that this topic is kind of dead but I have found a way to plant inside the greenhouse and get around the unfinished room moodlet. However it requires ITF. All you do is build the greenhouse like normal, then put done dome flooring and then cover it with the Nature's Soil Rug that came with ITF. Voila! No unfinished room moodlet and you can plant plants on the rug and best of all no cheats required.
