Is it fixed? I was wanting to get this, but I'm on the fence, not sure if I want it if I can't garden through winter. Right now in the files I have a garden going, I only have spring and summer lol.

I curious as well. I don't see a store update posted but I do want to get it when its fixed. Although it will not be on sale anymore then.

Side note: my file has just spring and summer (summer is twice the length of spring) and it is the 2nd day of soring and 28 degrees so my plants went dormant anyway.

I'd be interested to know too as I'd really like to get it. At the moment I have an indoor room that I've dedicated to gardening though the winter with lots of planters in but I'd love a proper greenhouse!

This was posted on Nov 30th on the official forum - So no fix yet.

The Store team has been testing on the new roof pieces to keep out the elements and address the dormancy issue and it is going well.  However, since this is the first time that the Store has ever tried to repost a venue, we’re doing some extra testing to ensure we haven’t introduced other problems.  The engineers are working on a way to make the install as smooth as possible for both new purchases and players that have downloaded the venue already.[/i]

I'll be curious to see how the EA fix works, when they finally get it up.  An independent modder had a fix up within a couple days for the roof pieces which I've been using in the meantime although you still have to use planters inside because having floor with no floor tiles gives the 'unfinished room' moodlet.  So I'm hoping that fix that as well.

I'm honestly surprised how long it's taking them.  I wonder how many EA employees who play Sims 3 are using the fixed pieces from an independent modder. lol

While the testing for the new roof pieces was quite successful, the process for a quick re-install for venues ran into a few road bumps.  However, we are still looking to have something out very soon. 

I know “soon” isn't as specific as anyone wants to hear (myself included) but we’re continuing to work on this issue diligently and I’ll let you know as soon as I know something more specific.

While the greenhouse part of this is disappointing, the Swiftpro growing station is amazing

As Saltypaws first pointed out, using sunlight in your composter will weed your plants. This almost makes up for the greenhouse not working. It also does spawn seeds and things grow very fast.

If you place the big greenhouse, it spawns gobs of seeds. There are numerous sunflowers there, so you can gather plenty of sunlight. It sells for $100 each which isn't too shabby for a struggling sim.

If they get the greenhouse thing worked out, I'll be a happy gardener.

EA has now released the fixed version:

The link explains the process to get the corrected venue.  Interestingly, the fix they used is the same that a modder used and had up within about 48 hours.

Basically, you now place a flat roof on your greenhouse and then put the glass roof pieces on top of that.  They now cut away (visually) the flat roof they sit on.

Looks like they didn't fix the planting indoors problem though. But still, I'll probably buy this now.

I tried the mod fix when it was posted, but the roof pieces wouldn't disappear (become transparent) when I was on the ground level. I had to tilt the camera to angles I don't normally use to get under the roof and interact with the plants in the greenhouse. It was enough of a nuisance that I uninstalled the mod.
If the EA fix is the same, I'll keep my "broken" greenhouse.

The EA fix was basically to make it part of the indoors.  I placed flat roof under the glass parts and colored them a specific color to blend better.   Then as long as I'm on the bottom floor of my lot, I have no problem seeing down into the greenhouse.

If you put "moveobjects" on then you can plant straight inside using the plant action. You don't need to plant outside then move the plants inside.
