Multiple instances of Sims 3

I'm wondering if this is possible. I want to install Sims 3 for a second time but in a different location then hopefully be able to open two instances of Sims 3. I know you can't open the same one twice but do you all think this would work? I really don't wanna go through all the installing if it won't.
