Sims Store Issue
« on: November 13, 2012, 07:59:57 PM »
For whatever reason, my Sims store account seems to have changed between yesterday and today (BEFORE downloading Seasons, mind you).  Now, instead of launching the base game to install purchased store content, it tries to launch late night, which always fails.  Any idea why this would happen?

It really should just be launching the Launcher, which will launch the most recently released expansion/stuff pack that you have installed if you were to click the Play button.  Can you describe in more detail exactly what happens when you try install Store content?

Yes, that's what's so odd.  The most recent expansion would've been Showtime.  I went ahead and installed Seasons and it still launches Late Night and then says "unknown error occurred."  Really odd.  I ended up installing the purchased content directly from the game.

What browser do you use?  Depending on the browser - you may just need to change the default program that it uses for downloading items.  It's all really easy but the instruction vary from browser to browser I think.

I was using Safari for this.  I didn't even think to check the browser settings since the default was fine the night before, but that's a good idea.  I'll have a look.  Thanks!

Safari used to give me serious issues when it came to the store so I started only using Chrome or Firefox for all my downloading needs.

I experience an IE-esque type of internet shame any time I have to admit to using Safari in public.

Don't get me wrong.  I loved Safari.  I still use it on my iMac.  But to download from the store I resorted to using Firefox or Chrome.  Actually I think it was Firefox more than Chrome.  I would just have both browsers open.  Kept all my important stuff on one and all my misc. on the other.  I hope you can get the issue fixed though.
