I had never thought of that, the skills a sim had being a factor.  When I think of it, all of my sims who had been taken quickly, all had high logic and handiness skills.

The one that was just taken last night when I was playing, his skill level in logic had just increased to level seven I think by his using the telescope.  Handiness was at, I think, level three.

The gardening one in SV, he had mastered handiness skills, but was only at level two or three in logic.  He had a visitor, but no abductions.
In RV, he has also mastered gardening, but was at least level five before he was taken, probably higher.  I don't start my sim's families until they have reached level five in logic.  And they had a child, so he had to be at least that high, probably higher with using the telescope.

So, could level of logic and handiness be a factor in a sim being abducted?

Maybe logic, because my sim was a high level in logic when that meteor fell, and that night was when a male sim was abducted; no pregnancy moodlet though afterwards. None of them had any handiness.

That's a good idea with the handyness/logic I will try raising those skills.

I don't think my game is glitched because all those rocks I have been collecting are attracting lots of alien visitors but its the abduction I'm interested in. I just really want to see my sim sucked up into a spaceship  :P

He just raised his logic level to seven using the tabcast thing before the party.

I also noticed the alien, after dumping him back, spent time monitoring the garden. So gardeners beware! May be another thing they are interested in!

Wow, you guys are so smart! I got handiness and logic both to level 8, and now I get abductions 100% of the time within 1-2 hours of stargazing  :o

Granted I've only stargazed 3 times total since reaching level 8 in handy/logic but still..

I do have a gigantic space rock and many large space rocks on my property though, so that probably helps my odds quite a bit. I would really like an alien nooboo but my neurotic side feels guilty for intentionally setting up my sims to be repeatly abducted knowing fully well they are to be probed and prodded at.. Oh, what a paradox!  :-\

It's usually easier to just romance an alien than to try and rely on abductions...at least with female sims. There's a distinct musical sound that plays when an alien comes to your lot at night. Just listen for that sound and then drag your sim/s out of bed to go greet the visitor.

Is marriage a factor in abductions?  The reason I ask is that I was trying for the longest time to get my male sim abducted.  I had him use the telescope and collect 2 new space rocks each day, which according to the guide should give a 90% chance of abduction.  The first two times, his partner got abducted.  Then they got married and I could trigger a single abduction during the next 20 to 30 days.

Finally, I had them divorce, and lo and behold, the next day, my sim got abducted, and pregnant!

Thats interesting because the Sim I'm trying to get abducted is single and it just won't happen!

My current writer sim has no logic, never owned a telescope, doesn't collect rocks, and she was abducted within a few days after starting. There's just a lot of randomness to it I think. My writer was a genie though and she ensorcelled the alien abductor, so that will teach them to mess with her.

Now my genie can cruise around in a shiny space car instead of that ugly old lamp. ;D

Could the pregnacy aspect be part of the logic in abduction?  I have had a female abducted, but they can't get pregnant, so it was just a bad moodlet for her.

The male that met the alien and he had low logic, he was never abducted, but he kept increased his friendship by calling on the phone.  After reaching a good friend relationship, he invited her to visit and they were married.

What I am thinking, wondering is,  a male with high logic and/or handiness would help in his getting abducted and become pregnant.  One with or without low logic but has the rocks may get abducted more on the randomness yet not get pregnant.
What else do those who get abducted yet not pregnant have in common, curious.
And is there any type of correlation with the visit and skills levels?

Those who can read codes, can they figure this out?

I just had my second abduction. A single male sim with high handiness skill and a few points in logic. And again, during rain. I did have a few space rocks on the lot, and my sim got pregnant ( and gave birth to a healthy little boy! :P )!

Question: Does reading pregnancy books have any kind of affect on the male sim pregnancy? I have a feeling that it must -- I didn't get to pick one of my alien baby's traits, and clearly there must be a factor other than the sim's mood.

And, can abducted sims get twins and triplets by watching TV, listening to the stereo and such or not?

I don't know about the twins and triplets area, but neither of my sims read the pregnancy books and I was able to pick the traits.
I kept the fathers happy, fed, lots of sleep and fun, social levels high.  I only let the hunger get halfway down before I had him eat a snack.  If the meal hadn't been cooked that day, he didn't eat it, he would have juice.  I didn't want to take a chance on bad food.  It affected a female sim once in her pregnancy.

I don't know what other factors affect the pregnancy, for the ability to pick traits.

I'd like to know about twins, how to get them although NOT triplets.

I like his anger face after giving birth. I don't know if it helped or not, but I had him eating watermelon the entire time...and he had girl.  It was kinda weird, the male not going to the hospital...considering they'd have to have surgery to remove it.

Well then maybe there is no factor other than the mood. I'm actually fairly certain that my sim's mood was at a maximum at that time and he had good food, but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm going to wait for my next abduction ( and hopefully, pregnancy ) and see if I can get twins or triplets! ( it was possible with the Sims 2, so why not the Sims 3? )

Regarding alien baby gender, I had my male sim eat 10 watermelons, and he still had a boy.

Regarding mood, I just kept him happy and he was able to pick the babies traits as normal.
