Aliens!

My sim died in a horrible inventing accident and her alien teen daughter was left living alone, which I didn't think could happen in TS3. Anyways she moved to Sunset Valley after aging up and the first meteor she summoned was worth 31,000+. She's going to be making all kinds of money from meteors, selling alien secrets, writing, and working as a doctor.

How do you sell alien secrets? I know about the part time job as a test subject, but you can't have two jobs, so is there some other interaction?
Edit: I found out, it's at the military base.

I wanted to give my Alien plastic surgery, but couldn't because of "cultural issues", i think it is so funny lol!

Could it be a glitch in your game?  If it keeps up I would suggest you move him to another house, or you could move your sim to another town to see if he has better luck.

I wish I could send the aliens in my game to you.  My married sim, who had a baby girl, has been abducted twice since then, they show up over the house and he has run out. 
I'd move him to another town but the children they have would be stuck with the gardening glitch. 
Anyhow, do a test and move your sim to another town and see how he does there. Just save the game, make a copy and send him to another town and see what happens.

14 days in on my current game: 12 abductions, 0 pregnancies.

My suggestion, get several space rocks, I go with the the more the merrier, and spread them about the yard.  Get a scope and start around midnight stargazing and searching.  I don't know if either one matters, but I would switch between them.  Stay out until four o'clock, I have always had mine abducted after 3:00 so give it to four and if no show, try again the next night. 
My one sim was abducted several times before he became pregnant, and the other was abducted and on the second abduction he was pregnant.

Do the seasons and weather influence abductions? What I mean is, is that say if it was Summer and it was sunny does your Sim have a better chance at being abducted?

I thought someone told somewhere aliens will apear more during the winter time, but don't pin me down on that.

The two males that I had that had been abducted and ended up pregnant were both in Summer, the one who meet and married the female alien it was in the Fall.  I had him out quite a bit in the summer, but no abduction.  He instead meet the alien female either at the end of Summer or start of Fall, don't remember.  She came for a visit once after they met, then they kept in touch with phone calls.  It was definitely in the fall when he invited her for a visit and two days later they were married.
The married one took several abductions before he became pregnant.  The other one, I think it was on his second abduction.

I've actually not seen a single alien in my game yet. Perhaps they're afraid of the rain - it's been raining non-stop all Summer except for two days.

I don't think aliens are afraid of the rain. I got my first ( and only! ) abduction during rain. In Fall, I think.

I was lucky enough to have a meteor crash while on vacation and quickly collected all the various space rocks even got a gigantic one! I analyzed them and spread them around my home *crosses fingers*

If aliens still don't show I'm throwing in the towel and waiting for one to come on its own accord. A watched pot never boils or however it goes.

Is this the one where you have tried several times, over 20 days (sim)?  I woulder if the reason could be a gltich in that game.  One that for some reason, the aliens are blocked.  Wierder things have happened.

My suggestion is to start another game, or in another town if you have an expansion pack.  I have had aliens show up in MF, SV and in RV.  Those are all of the towns that I have.  Well, I have AP but don't like that town; although I may give it another try with the SN ex pack and now with Seasons and the aliens.

I was playing around in Twinbrook and I had aan abduction once my one sim found like two or three stars, and she had found the meteor she had seen crash through the telescope and put it in the yard. They abducted another one of my three sims that night.

Had my first alien in Bridgeport. However, BAD timing! My female sim, newly engaged, was at work. The male was throwing a bachelor party. The twins of my female from a previous encounter, were downstairs playing. I heard a weird noise, and he went outside, then was sucked up by an alien (his logic level is high). Not knowing how long it would take, my sim left work to return home (didn't want social workers taking her kids) and he returned with "got probed" moodlet. Thank goodness he wasn't carrying a child, because my female sim was already pregnant. 3 kids is quite enough!
