Anyone had a problem with their alien babies making, or not making sounds?

Not sure if it should go here, as it is a problem, but since we have been discussing alien babies, I though it might be a good place.  If not, could it be moved please?

I have had two male sims who had babies; I had one family that I used for an experiment in moving sims who had the garden abilities.  In that one I had moved the male before he had his baby.  It was a boy and I didn't pay any attention to see if he was making sounds, my focus was on the garden.  I noticed when he was a toddler for all of two days that he didn't make any sounds.  In advancing him to child, it was pretty obvious that when he talked, there was no sounds.  It was there for the other sims, but not him.

Wondered it it was a glitch in that game, went to the original game, where the baby had been born and was a girl.  Same thing, she has never made a sound, you can see her crying, the moodlet shows her as crying, but there is no sound.

Have been checking out my other family, the one in MF (the other one is in RV).  That baby isn't making any sounds either, let him go yellow to get him to cry,  no sound, he was crying away, but no sound.

Anyone else had this problem?  Know of a reason?

I don't know if any one else has noticed this but I noticed one of my aliens doing something I've never seen any other sim do.

Repairing broken appliances autonomously.

Seems they have a loop hole. If you have a Handy alien they have two repair options, the standard repair where the bust out a wrench and get to work (which no sim, not even aliens, will ever do autonomously) and then there's "Recombobulate broken object" where they repair the item telepathically. And this telepathic repair they can do autonomously.

My guess is that's an oversight on EA's part and they'll probably fix it as soon as they notice it so enjoy the autonomous repairs while you can. :)

And about those upgrades for the UFOs, I think the Laser Canons is by far more fun than the space travel one. The space travel one is much like the time machine where your sim just disappears for a while and you see notices about your sim's adventure and after a while they reappear with a gem or a rock or a piece of ore.

With the laser canons upgrade you get the option to "Invade community lot". Here are some screenshots of my sim in her hot rod red UFO invading Central Park in Sunrise Valley. :)

Basically your sim flies over to the lot you choose and hovers for a bit with the "Lure sims to invasion" interaction and then once enough sims show up your sim will just open fire shooting the ground in random locations sending all the sims on the ground into a panic.

That was way more fun than the space travel in my opinion.

Oooh, I just had a thought. Genie's are occult but aliens aren't. Can't make a genie/vamp hybrid but it should be possible to make an alien genie.

Autonomous repairs, cleaning the whole house in an instant and summoning food.

That sounds so cool. I gotta try it. :)

I am having issues where my the two Aliens living on my lot are all of a sudden getting the tired moodlet and needing sleep.  I thought Aliens didnt get tired and just need to regenerate brain power.  Has anyone else had this issue?

Thankyou

Is the regenerate brain power option still available when they get tired?

Does it matter whether a sim is stargazing or searching the galaxy? I would think searching would get better results, but I have no clue nor any skills with which to check within the games coding or whatever. I'm attempting to get some alien nooboos of my own with poor Chris Steel.

On another note, does the size/number of the meteor/s matter in attracting aliens? I haven't even seen one, let alone have sim get abducted.  :(

EDIT: HOLY FISH STICKS AND CUSTARD!

Has anybody noticed these before? I found them on the trail behind the stadium. As one seems to be an alien abduction, I figured this is the appropriate place for 'em. The other seems to be reference to Seasons.

EDIT 2: Annnnd... Just had my very first abduction and answered my own question. Doesn't matter at all apparently. Stargaze works just fine.

I actually don't think the telescope matters at all. I've seen posts that suggest it does but I had my sim spend several days at the telescope with needs static with out a single visit.

So I never used the telescope again but I have had several visits while doing late night gardening trying to finish harvesting before the sprinklers kick on.

I think it's just being out doors at night that lures them. After all they can't abduct you if your indoors.

Space rocks might help though as the aliens can eat them to restore brain power.

Ahem, if you can't see them they look like cave paintings. They're on some rocks back on the trail between the Stadium and whatever lake/park in Sunset Valley. They were taken at night with rain, so they're not good quality. I'll try for some better ones if it ever stops raining.  ::) I got a little excited...

It was the second or maybe even third abduction before my sims became pregnant.

So, keep trying.  I don't know how far apart the visits were either.  It wasn't the next night, two, three (?) days, so give it some time.

I bounce between games too much to remember details of what happens with each game

Does the sim having fertility treatment affect the chances of it becoming pregnant when he is abducted?

Actually, they WILL abduct a Sim that is indoors. The Sim will get a non-cancelable action to go outside and check out something strange (I forget the exact wording). THey then run out and get grabbed. I've even had it happen to Sims that were asleep at the time.

Interesting. I guess I should let one of these visits play out. What I've been doing is every time an alien visits, every time I hear that alien abduction music playing, I pause the game and find the alien, usually by the front gate (which is set as front door), then NRaas/Master Controller/Intermediate/Add Sim to make him part of my household then while still paused I go to edit town, split up household moving out the alien to the clipboard and from the clipboard I save the alien to the library and then delete from clipboard and then return to game with my sims none the wiser.

I've been collecting enough aliens to populate a world. In a sense I've been abducting aliens. ;)

They can still regenerate Brain energy but it does not remove the tired moodlet so they are forced to sleep.  Its become really really annoying.  Im afraid to let it go but they will litrally go into the red as far as happiness goes if they do not get sleep just like a normal Sim.
