Seasons - First Impressions

I am not really having any problems in my game. The weather is always warm in summer and although it rains alot, i enjoy it. It gives me a reason to keep my sim inside to work. I've only played summer so far but the graphics are awesome and it gives a whole new lot of features to the game that I just love.

My only problem would be that I haven't been able to get out of summer and to fall. Either the saving has glitches (luckily only once, i'm not sure if its a one time thing or if it came from seasons) and my game crashing to the desktop, though that has happened quite a bit for me.

Over all, I don't regret bribing my parents into giving me the money for it with love and affection.

Something I found very cute is that married Sims now have anniversaries. I guess it's because they now have years so they can count

Do aliens live forever or do they have a normal life span?

I would say normal.  The sim that I had that meet an alien who visited and then ended up marrying her, she showed up as being just a few days from turning elder.  He and his sister had just turned to adult.  Fortunately, his sister was an alchemist and she mixed up three fountain of youth elixers so they could all drink it and be at the same age.  It worked and they all were back to day one of YA. 

There is a thread, maybe this one, where I read that a sim, I think it was Christopher Steel, lost his alien mate; I think after a night of whoohoo.  What a way to go     My memory is not the best, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Chris sitting with a ghost alien beside him.

only problem so far is that all plants that go dormant never wakes up when spring comes around.......

What's your weather like? If you're unlucky with low temperatures in spring and autumn, your plants could be dormant for three quarters of the year. Also, I think trees don't always update their status properly. Mine appeared to stay dormant for a day or three longer than the smaller plants, and then suddenly "woke up" and hit the next growth stage at the same time.

For reliable gardening in anything but summer, you definitely need the indoor planters from Supernatural now. It's rather aggravating that Seasons doesn't come with any.

They always had years. They were just never explicitly mentioned.

I played today the first time since I got Seasons, in Twinbrook and fall and winter is so beautiful!

I have been playing while now with different games (not made to spring yet) but today I finally really enjoyed playing winter for the first time. Maybe it was because now I don't need to be jealous to my sims about snow it's weird what little snowstorm in real world affects on game...
Only thing I don't really understand is the snow days for kids, no school because of weather? Seriously? I partly wish those would have been in real when I was kid.

Where I live, snow days happen a lot! It's because the school buses can't drive safely on the roads in snow and ice.  A couple of years ago, my son didn't have a full week of school through the entire months of December and January.  They had to make up the days at the end of year.  Normally they get out of school right at the beginning of June, but they added about a week and a half to the end of that to compensate.

Cheezey where you live? (Country). I don't think they have ever closed the school in Finland. You can always walk to school  maybe that is one reason why according British study Finland has best education (not many day offs). Even it's not always so fun walking to school in heavy snowfall...

Getting schools days off due to weather can depend on a lot of factors.  How often it snows and types of snow; type of roads; hilly, flat, gravel or blacktop roads; thier condtions-how often salted,  town or country settings, and other factors.  Cousins in Canada laugh at the kids getting school off here for snow when to them it is nothing and we say it is cold when to them is it nice weather.  But let them visit here in the summer and they are dying from the heat and humidity that we don't even notice. I think the programers tried to find a middle ground, and that would be hard to do even then with players from so many different countries.   

I haven't played winter yet, so I am waiting to see how close it is to what we have here in my home area, Ohio (borders on KY and WV, so we have lots and lots of hills here).

I really love Seasons. I don't mind the rain in Summer as I am used to our summer in uk being good for about 1 week and then rain on and off.
