This is a great game over all, the only problem I have to warn people about is that if you are cheating whith hunger needs during the hot dog contest, even if you don't make your sim starving for some reason my sim died so simmers be warned!
I love rain!

Cheating isn't necessary for this. I had testing cheats off and my sim just starved during the hot dog eating contest. It seems that when they cough from eating too fast, their hunger goes down. My sim has the LTR that makes her never nauseous or stuffed from the eating contests.

Artie has made his appearance known again in a new town.  He's married because I wanted to confirm that the bug was fixed but now he has the ability to right love letters to people he knows outside the house but only people he knows.

Christopher Steel moved in and has been using the online dating tool.  Unfortunately, the only people who have asked him out were Buster Clavell, Jared Frio & Dustin Langerak.  Guess it gets around you're having an alien's baby.

The online dating tool is interesting.  You can make it say anything you want to catch just the right person.  The townies who are signed up will lie about their traits and stuff too.   It's hilarious.

Online dating could be an interesting new tool for evil sims to catch victims.

Looking for a sim that likes barbecuing and dips in pools without ladders.

I'm really enjoying myself so far. I've only starting so I'm only on Summer but it's really cute so far. The first couple days were wet and stormy but I like the addition of the umbrella and my little Cocker Spaniel was so cute rolling in the puddles. I went to the festival grounds on the first sunny day we had and caught a cold  ::) Watching my sim learn to skate was adorable as was the water baloon fight. Made friends with an alien on my way home. I thought they would be harder to catch but he was just standing there outside my house.  I love gardening so the new plantables are a treat. Looking forward to playing some more!

I finally got my family finished up and my house decorated with a few objects that will rotate seasonally. I really like the rain effects, the thunder makes it that much more real. I'm glad they included umbrellas.

I have been playing for over a sim week and still no festival.  I have the park that the game put in for me.  It says it is going to start and then doesn't.  Other than that and it rains constantly, lol, I really like it so far.  Fall is absolutely gorgeous, with the colors of the trees.  They out did themselves with this EP.

I had the same thing happen. I went to town edit, bulldozed the park (Sunset Valley), placed the festival park, and am still having some issues.  I have to bulldoze & replace every season or it doesn't change.  I'm going to start another game and see what happens. If it doesn't work, I'll clear my mods & see what another new game start does.

I'll post back with results.

I'm loving this. The rain is great. I love the way Sunset Valley looks at night with the frost. Gorgeous

I get my copy tomorrow morning (it's 10.15pm now)
So the garden goes dormant through the winter.. does that mean no greenhouses?  :(

A greenhouse is going to be the next premium content.

With apologies to Oscar Hammerstein:

Toddlers in snowsuits and
Splashing in puddles,
Building a snowman and
Group photo huddles,
Dancing so slowly and skating in rings --
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the food spoils,
When the Grim calls,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad!

Yep. I'm tentatively calling it the fault of my mods, despite the fact I never got a message that they were incompatible since the game had JUST updated and so had the mods.  Now, I DID replace the park in Sunset Valley again with the Festival Park because it didn't show that first day, but the next morning all the summer festival stuff was there.  It didn't ask me when I loaded the game if I wanted to place lots, so I'm hoping come Fall, the park changes.

One more day, one more day... I can't wait. First work tomorrow and then I can finally try it out too! So what season to start with then?

For some reasons, despite how I set up my pre-order with Amazon, they didn't want to send it to me until next week. So I cancelled and just picked it up at Best Buy.

Slow dancing is adorable! Sims can even accidentally step on their partner's foot.
I played a bit with the weather totem pole, and in the summer, you can do a revitalizing shower that rains flowers all over the city (even in map view).

Based on my sole single non-experimental experiment ;D if you change the season setting midgame, it still takes about 2 sim days to actually switch (I first started with all of the seasons, then turned off summer, and was still told it'd be another 2 days before fall).
