Family Trees
« on: November 10, 2012, 01:58:00 PM »
I've noticed on many of the story forums, players are aware of the parentage of a Sim child (even when it is still in utero!).  I know you can check family trees on members of your household, but is there a way to check on the townies to see who their parents are?

The only time to check townie is when they are attached to the family you are playing somehow.  I can see the family of my Young Adult's boyfriend because they are linked together in the family tree.  Then when I click on him it will show more of his family tree and if I choose anyone in his family tree, I will be able to see their connections.

Most of the stories are played in advance, or the player knows who tried for baby and knows who the parent will be.
We are of peace, always but this is war.
We are of peace, always.
We'll help build a resistance. We have to fight.

When all you've ever loved has been stolen from you, sometimes all you have left is revenge.
For the truly wronged, satisfaction can be found in one of two places,  absolute forgiveness or mortal vindication. This is not a story about forgiveness. When deception cuts this deep, someone has to pay.

Plus, if the story is not an official legacy or dynasty, the player may be using mods where it is easy to find out who the parents of a particular sim are.

Using the standard game, it would be as the others mentioned: you can find connections through your sim's family tree or when another sim enters your household. The last name will probably reveal one of the parents, and sometimes the sim's appearance is a dead giveaway. (For example there is no questioning any child of Juan Darer, but others are not so painfully obvious.)
