Sorry it's been long since I updated, I haven't been home this year yet, so it's hard to find some writing time!

Chapter 10: This Family Will Drive Me Crazy

I’m starting to believe that my family thinks it’s a sport to make me angry, which might I add is quite difficult to do, I don’t normally get angry just flustered. Anyway let’s start at the beginning, Yesterday evening, after we had put Ethen down for the night, Spencer and I decided that we would call a family meeting, just to tell that family that we were expecting.

We shared our good news and the excitement was obvious all around!

“Granddaughter or Grandson? Patricia asked

“Another perfect grandbaby!” mom exclaimed

“Yay, our baby can have a playmate and a little cousin!” Annalove commented

Paul and James remained quite I didn’t read to much into that since they are both quite people.

“Whoa family slow your roll!” Spencer said

“Thanks honey, anyway Patricia, does it matter if it’s a boy or girl?” I asked

“ No, of course not I just want to know!” She answered

“Sorry Mom you’re going to have to wait until this little one is born” he said putting his hand on my belly

“And Annalove, our baby is older than your baby I’m four months along and your two.” I told her clipped

I still had no use for Annalove I just tolerated her.

“Well kids we have a surprise for you all as well” my mom piped up

“Mom, are you pregnant too?” Paul asked

“Oh Paul, no there is no way I’m pregnant! No, it's nothing so drastic, it’s just that James, Patricia, and I have decided to move in together!” She told us

“You realize you already live together right?” Spencer asked

“Yes, darling we realize what Jeanine means is that the three of us have bought a house together!” Patricia told us

All eyes in the room were now resting on the three people sitting on the couch

“WHAT? When did this all come about? I asked I was suddenly very upset

“It was James’s idea” Patricia told me

I was floored I didn’t know what to say, James? He won’t even hold Ethen let alone make a huge life choice!

“Fine if you and Patricia want to leave that’s your decision but my mom stays” I practically shouted at them, by this time I was in tears

“Victoria Kathleen Gibson Ford, that’s enough, there’s no need to be rude.” She said as she stood “And in other news young woman I am a grown woman, and I get to make my own decisions and I certainly do not need you or your brother to tell me what I can and cannot do!”

“Fine, then please leave and don’t let the door…”

“Ria, come with me you don’t need to get so worked up, it’s bad for the baby” Spencer said taking my hand and leading me to our bedroom.
I was so worked up that a wave of nausea hit me like a brick wall, I made a mad dash to our bathroom just in time.

I brushed my teeth and emerged from the bathroom to find Spencer perched on the footboard of our bed, with his arms folded over his chest.

“I thought that morning sickness was supposed to go away after the first trimester?” I asked Spencer

“Well I’m not a doctor yet, but I would say that has nothing to do with morning sickness and everything to do with being scared about your mother leaving.” He said in a gentle voice

“You’re right you’re not a doctor yet.”  I fired back

“Ria,” Spencer said as he crossed the room to take me in his arms “ what’s the real reason you’re so mad that she is leaving?”

“Ethen and this new baby.” I lied

“Ok so they grow up like normal kids whose grandparents live across town. Now how about telling me the truth.” He said

“ I want her here because I wasn’t there when Dad had his stroke, and maybe if she’s here with us, she won’t get sick.” I sobbed into Spencer chest

“Ria, baby, that’s not how it works.” He told me as he tightened his arms around me

I didn’t say anything I just continued to cry. I knew he was right but I needed her near me, with me, so when that time came I would be there, not my in laws me and my brother and our children, she needed us not them. I couldn’t help but feel anger toward my in laws right now. I don’t know how long I stood crying on Spencer but I remember him picking me up and putting me in bed like he would Ethen, the last thing I remember was feeling Spencer crawl into bed and again wrap me in his arms.

Oh poor Ria.  She loves her mom so much and it's difficult to let go, but her mom is right to want her own space.  Nicely written.

It was pretty easy to write this chapter because I could easily connect with not wanting to let go! Thanks!

Chapter 11: It's All So Different

I woke up this morning still feeling sick to my stomach just as I had since that week ago when our parents made their shocking announcement, but it seemed that today was the worst of days, today was moving day. Boxes were scattered around the in law quarters and the main house, I couldn’t help but kick a few as I left my bedroom, looking back it was very childish of me. I hadn’t spoken to anyone but Spencer and my two year old, and one other person for a week, I missed talking to my mom and Patricia, but my pride has taken me over and refuses to allow me to apologize for acting like my two year old. The only time I feel remotely happy is when I’m spending time with Ethen,

Or thinking about the little baby that will be in my arms in just a few short months

But I didn’t decide to write, so that I could complain about my life actually the opposite, I have a few things to tell everyone, and the first is that I was completely and absolutely wrong about, Annalove. As it turns out we have a lot in common! I was shocked, she is actually a very nice person, and I deeply regret saying those mean things about her. While I work with Ethen on his toddler skills, Anna sits and talks with me. And Ethen has started calling her Aunt Lovey, it super cute to hear it! Oh duh! Ethen learned to talk! I’m such a proud Mommy. Anyway Anna is so excited about the birth of her little boy, (oh by the way Anna and Paul are having a boy! Don’t ask about Spencer and I because we don’t know!) They have a name picked out but they are keeping it a secret. It is killing me to not know! Anna, Paul and Spencer went with our parents to see their new house, while Ethen and I hung out and worked on walking.

Anna took a picture of the house for me.

It looks like a nice place.

And the other thing I NEED to share with everyone is my adorable son! It turns out that Anna is quite the photographer, she offered to take some photos of Ethen and of course I accepted! So I will leave you with pictures of my sweet baby!

What a little flirt!

Mommy was making funny noises!

Mommy took his binky, so……

He reverted to his bad habit. Aunt Lovey thinks it’s so cute, fine then you and Paul can pay for his braces! And now for my favorite picture,

My baby boy!

That toddler photo album was just darling! I do hope that Ria eventually comes around and talks to her mother. Perhaps she just need a bit of time. :)

Happy Spooky/feast day! So I have some good news, I made amends with my mom and in laws, I realized that I was being so childish about the whole thing, and that my mother is an adult and can make her decisions, oh and I almost forgot, after two weeks of being overdue yesterday I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! By the way I was totally kidding about almost forgetting! Before I show you her picture I will show you my crazy husband.

My husband… you would think this is our first! Now for the moment I have been waiting for, showing off my perfect baby girl!

Welcome Riverlee Antoinette Ford, born at 4:30 am on November 28. She was 7lbs 8 oz and 19.5” long!

And now for some even more good news Anna is in labor! Unfortunately it started right in the middle of the feast party we were throwing, but hey my nephew is so worth it!

Here is a quick shot of mom and I stuffing our faces! Thanks Spencer.

Shortly after that we heard a commotion in the living room, I knew immediately by the tone of Anna’s voice that she was in labor, so I grabbed the camera and made a mad dash to the living room.

Spencer, this is the reaction of a first time dad.

At this point I stopped taking pictures, I felt it was my duty to tell my brother to get a grip and take his wife to the hospital! He then ran off to get Anna’s overnight bag.  Anna asked mom and I to go with, of course we said yes, that’s my nephew in there after all! Anna had a very easy labor, not long after we arrived at the hospital….

My nephew Lennox Jeremiah Gibson was born at 10:28 pm on November 29 (Spooky Day) he was 8lbs 4oz and was 20.5” long. I am one happy Aunt Ria/Momma!

Seriously, all those babies are really gonna make for a very niosy home! And with the Grandparents moved out, that's gonna be quite a challenge for the moms... Fortunately Ria has had one before so experience is not altogether lacking. And speaking of Ria: while she is reacting to fear, which explains a lot, it doesn't really justify her emotional selfishness? She seems to be harbouring old wounds rather than setting her loved ones and her fears free. She needs to lt go, holding on will drive her to either a nervous breakdown or insanity. Neither of which is good for either her or her family... They are all their own people. They need her love, not her obsession.

It's definitely a challenge to play that many sims!

A short note from Ria

Hey everyone! So I just thought I should let you know that I will be taking a break from writing around here for a little while. No worries I'll be back though and with so much more to share with everyone about my wonderful family!

Until then,

Much love, Victoria, Spencer, Ethen, and Riverlee Ford
